Starstruck Comics IDW PublishingExclusive Video Interview!

IDW Publishing's Starstruck comics have experienced an unusual 20-year journey. It began as an off-Broadway play in 1980 written and starring Elaine May. It then birthed a spin-off comic book series that was serialized in Heavy Metal in 1982, published as one of Marvel's first graphic novels (number 13, to be exact) in 1984, and then expanded and printed in black and white by Dark Horse in 1990.

Since 1990, it's been nearly impossible to find, but no more: IDW Publishing is remastering and rereleasing this epic as a 13-issue series, with the artwork expanded again by original artist Michael Kaluta and repainted by the fabulous Lee Moyer. We recently had the chance to sit down with Moyer and get a history lesson on Starstruck, as well as an inside look at the remastered version of the comic:
