Huge news as Scout Comics Signs a Worldwide Distribution deal with Simon & Schuster a ViacomCBS Company. Signing with Simon & Schuster as well as the Webber Agency will give Scout the ability to distribute worldwide and lock in foreign language rights deals around the world.

It Eats What Feeds It #1

One of Scout's new comics in 2020 is It Eats What Feeds It. Francois, a beautiful woman has convinced Kenny, a halfwit teenager who is looking for a summer job to take on the role of caretaker. Blinded by her beauty, Kenny ignores the fact that he is required to slide raw meat into the slot of the steel attic door that is locked. As Kenny falls for Francois she falls ill forcing Kenny to learn the secrets behind the door. A great story with some room for growth.

Yasmeen #1

Yasmeen is the story of a 16-year-old Iraqi girl who survives slavery in the ISIS regime in Mosul. At 16 years old she was captured by ISIS invading forces and forced to find the courage to survive. After two years in slavery, she is freed. Emerging as a completely changed person she struggles with her identity becoming a refugee in a foreign land, America.

The Growth of Independent Comics

Scout is building its inventory steadily since being introduced into the market back in October 2015. Scout has distributed great titles such as Atlantis Wasn't Built For Tourists, Phantom Starkiller, North Bend, White Ash, The Mall, Vlad Dracul, Zinnober, and many others. If Simon & Schuster saw fit to sign a distribution deal I could certainly see why. Scout Comics is one of the fastest-growing indie labels.

Keep A Close Eye On Scout Comics As Movies Are In The Works

There are great things on the horizon with Scout Comics. In January 2021 they are introducing their new kid's line of comics "Scoot" geared towards younger aged readers. The upcoming stories include Unikorn by Don Handfield and Joshua Malkin. This title is already in production for a movie at Armory Films with Debbie Berman at the helm. Debbie Berman (Black Panther, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Captain Marvel) will get her first chance behind the camera. With her incredible resume at Marvel Films, Unikorn is sure to be one not to miss. Armory Films Co-founders Chris Lemole & Tim Zajardos describe the film: "Unikorn has heart, humor and ultimately leaves you feeling inspired and hopeful, story elements which define some of our favorite films like Goonies, ET and The Black Stallion." Other new scoot lines are "Sengi & Tembo", "Soulstream", "Mapmaker", "Wild Bull & Chipper" and many others in negotiation.

The Best Is Yet To Come

The timing is everything as this distribution deal comes as Scout also has deals in the works with Amazon Studios and Disney/Freeform. Coincidence, I think not. With the form of the current comic market, Scout has positioned itself to continue having exponential growth in the future. 2020 seems to be the year of the new storyline and characters. The current speculation market is running crazy on every comment of a possible animated series, tv series, or movie. These are great storylines with major room for growth with the new distribution deal being signed.
