The first female Hulk was also the last Marvel superhero created by the late, great Stan Lee. He only wrote the first issue and that was Stan's last superhero at Marvel. Accordingly, Stan says he "created her to craft a smart female hero who also had the Hulk's brute strength. Though it has been said She-Hulk was an effort to undercut any attempt by the Incredible Hulk TV series to create a female version of Bruce Banner first." She was sexy, and intelligent, unlike her cousin Banner who becomes a rampaging brute. Her several decades in the Marvel Universe has seen She-Hulk join many of the popular superhero teams. Can this green goliath produce the greenbacks necessary for one good speculation?

Savage She-Hulk #1

This sultry savage was created by Stan Lee and John Buscema in 1980. This is her first appearance and origin story in Savage She-Hulk #1. This book has blown up in value over the last year or so. Over the last six months, there have been over 300 sales of this book throughout the grade strata. Almost 5000 copies exist in CGC Census, with increases in price the She-Hulk train is leaving the station. The scuttlebutt back in April was that Mark Ruffalo was going to star in a Hulk/She-Hulk team up TV series. Then at some point, Ruffalo would exit and the show would center on Jennifer Walters the beautiful She-Hulk. It has good CGC Census numbers, reasonable price points, but how does this jolly green chick do on returns?

Most of the American people and especially young ladies don't know She-Hulk. Once they get the opportunity if the writing is good and the actress even better a huge hit show is a strong possibility. One aspect that is interesting is how easy this character would fit with Disney programming. Bottom line the short-term returns have been lacking, but this is truly a great entry point to buy Savage She-Hulk #1. Further, my bet has been down for 3 years on this book and it is paying off. There is still room at the trough. Onk! Onk!

The She-Hulk #7 by Greg Horn with a script by Dan Slott is hotter than pancakes. No, not in profit just this magnificent cover, boys, just the cover. Horn has a talent and is known for drawing some extremely sexy female superheroes. Personally, I think She-Hulk is just getting started. In the final analysis, she could well surpass Incredible Hulk in popularity over time. Think Harley with green skin, that level of popularity is more than possible, the catch? Can they pick the right woman to portray this jade giant?

Baseline with GoCollect

The mutual fund industry has an old saying, "Past performance is no guarantee of future returns." This is a truism. That being the case part of our job as speculators are to crunch not only hard data but also the soft data. The quantitative vs. the qualitative. Example: Is Rocky Racoon going to be as popular as a female Thor? It is not exactly like this can be quantified into some kind data point. This is a qualitative aspect and ultimately comes down to opinion.

Part of the reason I started using GoCollect was to get a baseline of pricing. Therefore, I knew roughly where I stood on a raw comic book purchase. Essentially, if I could grade it correctly, and combine the cost of shipping with CGC grading; then I would know I was in profit on the spot, all things being equal. So far it has worked like a charm. I use the GoCollect database to plot out my comic holdings and purchases. Then simply sit back to watch the vagaries of the market. If you aren't a full-fledged member of GoCollect; then become one now. Come on people, it is like $5.99 a month with membership and that allows you to check your current holdings in real time. This is the best service out there in my opinion and a steal for the price, Go->Collect get it?
