Round Table CompaniesMedia Release -- Round Table Companies, dedicated to marrying the world of art and commerce in new and interesting ways, announced today that it has struck deals with several of the world's best-selling authors to offer a range of business and non-fiction titles in never before available comic book format. In partnership with Smarter Comics, Round Table Companies will release six comic books on April 16, 2011 in bookstores throughout the U.S. and Indigo bookstores in Canada, as well as in Hudson News stores on May 1, 2011.

Additionally, readers can view a digital version of the books for free, online or on the SmarterComics Android applications from April 1 to July 1, 2011—a unique pricing model inspired by Round Table Companies' author partner, Chris Anderson, and his concepts from Free: The Future of a Radical Price.

Round Table Companies brings together a stable of talented artists to breathe new, visual, life into some of the non-fiction and business genres best-selling titles. The first series of comic books includes WIRED magazine editor-in-chief and author Chris Anderson and his New York Times bestseller The Long Tail. Anderson's comic will launch in April along with other prolific authors and comic book adaptations of their best-selling books including Overachievement by Dr. John Eliot, How to Master the Art of Selling by Tom Hopkins, Mi Barrio by Robert Renteria, Shut Up, Stop Whining & Get a Life by Larry Winget, and Sun Tzu's 2,500 year old classic The Art of War.

"In today's world, time is at more of a premium than ever. By providing existing titles in a familiar format, and in a new way that's never been done before, Round Table Companies is creating a more powerful and memorable experience for a new generation of non-fiction readers," said Corey Michael Blake, Round Table Companies CEO. "Through this unique marriage of business and art, these books deliver all the knowledge and impact of traditional books, but without the stodginess that can often leave books left half-unread."

Round Table Companies partners today's most influential thought leaders with artistic talent to turn bestsellers into visually engaging comic books. The comic books will be sold through traditional chain and independent bookstores, 65 Hudson News bookstores in U.S. airports and transportation terminals, and through Indigo, Canada's largest bookstore chain with 247 locations. Round Table Companies' books will also be available in comic book stores, which will help drive the busy professional back to the nostalgic retail location they might not have visited since their youth. Additionally, a new series of comics will follow later in the year under the Round Table Comics banner.

"Who could turn down the opportunity to be a superhero? The pen is mightier than the sword, but rarely does it get to look that way, too," said Anderson. "I am honored to be a part of such an innovative idea and think people will be captivated by this entertaining medium."

From busy professionals on the go who don't have time to read lengthy business books in their traditional format, to younger professionals who enjoy entertainment as their primary source of content, Round Table Companies' comics were designed with the modern reader in mind. The comics are packaged in a way that encourages learning and increases retention. Bold illustrations help bring to life the books' main messages.

Blake adds, "We work with accomplished artists, producers and talent like Chris Anderson to bring our partners' visions to life. We believe the power of stories impact lives and look forward to continuing future partnerships in other markets like sports and entertainment, which can also benefit from this creative medium for delivering messages."

Round Table Companies works closely with businesses to use entertainment to inform, educate and inspire. The company is owned by Writers of the Round Table, Inc. and produced the first series of six books in collaboration with SmarterComics™.
