120442_406562_6 Preview the May 2012 PREVIEWS CatalogMedia Release — The May edition of PREVIEWS catalog arrives in comic shops, hobby stores, and other specialty outlets on April 25th and features comic books, graphic novels, toys, and other pop culture merchandise scheduled to go on sale beginning July 2012.

ON OUR FRONT COVER: Spotlighting DC Comics’ BEFORE WATCHMEN: OZYMANDIAS, a six-issue series from writer Len Wein and artist Jae Lee, revealing the early years of the mastermind who would go on to orchestrate the greatest single ruse ever pulled on the human race, all in the name of peace. Wein and artist John Higgins also continue the exploits of the Crimson Corsair in the back-up story.

Monthly Movie Theme: The May edition of PREVIEWS is a LIGHTS! COMICS! MOVIE MONTH! With summer movies like The Avengers, Prometheus, Men in Black III, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, G.I. Joe 2, and more on the horizon, its obvious comic book and sci-fi movies are more popular then ever. Over the past decade comics fans and the uninitiated alike have been enjoying a new popularity and respect for comics as a means to tell interesting and entertaining stories, and to serve as source material for some of Hollywood’s biggest movie blockbusters. Indie Edge: This month’s Indie Edge section puts creator screenwriter Zak Penn in the spotlight. Penn has made contributions to various films which include X-Men, X-Men 2, The Incredible Hulk and his most recent project, The Avengers. Recently, Penn has begun working on his own comic book series with Avatar Press. He is also writing the screenplay for Karate Kid 2 and a new sci-fi film.
