ON OUR FRONT COVER: Reinvented as part of DC Comics’ New 52 publishing initiative, WONDER WOMAN comes out guns blazing literally with PREVIEWS’ front cover, dedicated to the eighth issue of the Amazonian Princess’s ongoing comic book series. This series was quickly applauded, as writer Brian Azzarello and artist Cliff Chiang managed to not only show the titular heroine’s internal and external strengths, but provide a fresh take on the Greek gods. In the newest installment, Wonder Woman, armed with the pistols of Eros and donning the armor of Hephaestus, will enter Hell to take on Hades and save an innocent soul.

Who would win a fight… can often be the start of many great comics debates. With Vs., writers Jason Aaron & Kathryn Immonen and artists Adam Kubert & Stuart Immonen attempt to put some of those debates to rest, as each issue of the tie-in is dedicated to expanding on battles shown in the main AvX title. To spark the fireworks, it’s Iron Man vs. Magneto and The Thing vs. Namor the Submariner in the first action-packed issue.
