Pittsburgh ComiconMedia Release -- The countdown to Pittsburgh Comicon 2011 is on now and we're still adding new guests!!!

-Media Guest: Farrah Forke, Mayson Drake from Lois and Clark and the voice of Big Barda from Batman Beyond and the Justice League Animated Series. (TV savvy fans may also recognize Farrah from her role as Alex from the NBC Sitcom Wings.)

In my last update I said this update was going to be about EVENTS and we have a vast array of panels, Q & A's, Demonstrations and more. Let me highlight just a few:

-Of Course there is the Being Human Q & A, Saturday at 2:00 with the stars of Being Human, Sam Witwer & Sarah Allen!!

-We have Q & A's with such comic luminaries as George Perez (Fri. 4:00) and Mike Grell (Sat. 12:00)

-An all-star inkers panel hosted by Inkwell Awards Founder, Bob Almond (Fri. 3:00)

-The Legion of Dudes Podcast will be hosting the Annual Trivia Contest (Sat. 12:00)

-The Sci-Fi Alliance of Pittsburgh has a whole slate of panels for Saturday including, Creating Custom Figures, A Publishing Panel, A Horror Writing Panel, How to Plan a Sci-Fi Wedding and more. ( for times and descriptions visits www.pittsburghcomicon.events/html )

-Pittsburgh's Toonseum will be hosting a Conversation with Jim Martin, puppeteer, producer and director with credits including: Mr. Rogers, Captain Kangaroo, Sesame Street, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Much More!! Saturday at 3:00

Those looking for a little entertainment need look no further than:

-Mentalist-Dr. Question Mark showing off his amazing mental skills Friday at 4:00

-A Haunting Beautiful Musical Performance Saturday at 5:00 pm by Destini Beard. (I checked out some of Destini's music on-line and it is stunning)

For the gaming crowd, Magic is back at the Comicon. We haven't had a Magic Tournament since we moved to the new digs, but Saturday at 10 there will be a Magic Tournament held next door to the convention hall at the Doubletree Hotel. Sunday will again be KIDZ DAY with Kidz Crafts, Kidz Events and Kidz Giveaways and best of all children 12 and under get into the show FREE. Their will be SCI-FI KIDZ CRAFTS sponsored by the Sci-Fi Alliance of Pittsburgh, HOW TO DRAW THE DISNEY DUCKS with Disney artist, Patrick Block; CARTOONING WORKSHOP with Joe Wos of The ToonSeum and also ONCE UPON A TOON a storytelling session also with The ToonSeum's Joe Wos. While we are talking about KIDZ DAY, any artist, publisher or guest wanting to sponsor a giveaway for Kidz Day please email the Comicon office with your Kidz Day Promotion.
