Welcome back to this week's Oddball Auction Items! Each week I find some unique and possibly overlooked items in Heritage's weekly Sunday and Monday comic auction. In the past, we've highlighted napkins, sleepover supplies, and even fan club mailers! This week I've picked out some fun and unique items. While these items might not necessarily always be rare, they are a whole lot of fun to talk about!

Archer Plastic Space Men Group of 9

Space exploration has been in the imagination of children all over the world for decades. The Atomic Era of comics was in full swing and space exploration was on every kid's mind. Heroes such as Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon had been popular for around 30 years at this point as well.

Toys based on space exploration were all the rage. My father had plenty of ray guns and a helmet he played with as a child! This set of nine Archer Plastic Men came out in 1953, and you can clearly see the influence popular science fiction stories of the time had on the designs.

In August of 2022, a set of six toys with original weapons was sold on eBay for $106, but smaller groups of these toys tend to stay under $50.  Heritage notes these as being in Fine to Excellent condition. This would make an exceptional piece for vintage toy collectors!

Superman #119 - 124 Sunday Comic Strip Tear Sheets Group of 6

Sunday Comic tear sheets are a big part of my collection. They're unique pieces of comic book history and are just plain cool to look at. Originally found in weekly periodicals, these sheets were torn out from their original magazines or newspapers.

This Superman tear sheet collection features the 6-episode arc called The Image, which ran from strips #119-124 in February and March of 1942. Tear sheets can sometimes fetch a surprising amount of money. In June of 2022, a Superman tear sheet from 1939 sold for $960. On the lower end, a Superman group of nine tear sheets sold for $114 in June of 2022 as well. Heritage notes these pages as being in Very Good condition overall.

There's also a tear sheet for Superman #125 and #127-134 as well, if this is a part of fandom you're looking to dive into!

ReAction Figures Group of 5

Super7's ReAction figures are some of my favorites to collect. From the nostalgic designs to the variety of figures, Super7 really does have a figure for every type of fan.

In my collection, I have several Gillman's (The Creature from the Black Lagoon), a few False Maria's (Metropolis), the full run of Archie figures, and a few odds and ends. These figures can become super collectible, especially the convention-only releases.

This lot includes some awesome figures; the glow in the dark Creature from the Black Lagoon, Predator, T1000 from Terminator 2, Alien, and Star Trek's own Captain Kirk. This is a great selection of sci-fi favorites! These figures usually sell for between $15-25 on eBay each. Heritage notes these as being in Excellent condition!
