All good things come to an end.  This is my last chapter on the New Marvel Cinematic projects and how they can impact the comic book marketplace.

Moon Knight (TBD)

I am Groot (TBD)

Blade (TBD)

Not much to say about these three projects.  First appearances of Moon Knight, Groot, and Blade are already quite high.  Appearing in the MCU could make these books appreciate more in value but obtaining them will also not be cheap.  I would look to ancillary heroes and the featured villains if one is looking to obtain profits in these series.

Secret Invasion (TBD)

A series featuring Nick Fury and Talos has potential.  This series could show how the Skrulls have been influencing the MCU for years.  What intrigues me most about this series is the curveball that it could become in the MCU.  If the MCU stumbles in any way it could be revealed that the dead Tony Stark and others were Skrulls.  A long shot I know but if franchises fail and Disney is looking to make money this is one way to do it.  For example, imagine Natasha appearing in the current MCU and you realize Endgame instead featured her Skrull imposter!  If Bucky can once again survive certain death and become the Winter Soldier then the dead Natasha could have been a Skrull.

Secret Invasion #1 and the rest of the mini-series will be on everyone's radar.  Remember I am trying to help you the reader see beyond the obvious.  That said, I think Strange Tales #135 should be your target. This is not the first appearance of Nick Fury.  Instead, this is the first appearance of Nick Fury as an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. This is still a key book that you can find in high grade 9.4 for less than a couple thousand dollars. Most of the books fall below that mark because of the purple border.  I have still seen some nice raw copies that come to market regularly for well less than FMV.

Ironheart (TBD)

The next generation of heroes is a theme in this new phase of the MCU.  Riri Williams is the star in the Disney+ show.  Speculators and investors have two key choices with Riri.  Riri's first appearance is in Invincible Iron Man #7.  As of this writing, a high grade 9.8 has an FMV of less than $200.  The CGC census has most books graded 9.8. As a result, investors should get the highest grade possible.

The book I would focus more on is Invincible Iron Man #3 (Anka Variant).  Remember I do not like variants.  So why am I recommending this book?  There are six total copies at this writing in the CGC census!!!  The FMV for these books is less than $150.  This book should be primed for an increase in value when people start to take notice of how rare it is compared to her first appearance or general issue of this book.

Armor Wars (TBD)

This show will feature James Rhodes stepping in the place of Tony Stark in a plot drawn from the comics.  He is concerned with the legacy of Tony Stark's tech in the MCU.  Classic Iron Man villains in the comic books could appear in this series.  All could be viable investments for the short term speculator and investor.

The book that I still think should be the target of both these groups is Rhodey's first appearance in  Iron Man #118.  Rhodey is being used as a Stark surrogate in this storyline.  His importance to the MCU could grow as a result in future storylines that involved Stark.  Stark left a big void and Rhodey could fill that void for future Marvel Cinematic projects.  His first appearance is over 40 years old and yet it still has an FMV of less than $400.  Undervalued.  Underappreciated.  Under the radar?  Yes to all three.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (TBD)

All the main characters from the original Ant-Man and Wasp movies will return.  Where investors and speculators seemed to spend their money was on the announced villain of this movie...Kang the Conqueror.  He was long rumored to become the next big bad of the MCU.  The book that people ran to was Avengers #8.   As a result when his appearance was announced people naturally assumed he would be the next big bad. Prices rose and now if you are a speculator or investor you may face buying a copy at inflated prices with long-term potential looking not too good.   The problem is what do they say about assuming things?  This book now scares me because of the next film announced for development .....

Untitled Fantastic Four Film (TBD)

A Fantastic Four film finally was announced by Disney.  After I heard this announcement I naturally revisited Kang as the big bad.   I know it has been mentioned before on these blogs, but Kang originally appeared as Rama-Tut in Fantastic Four #19 almost a year before he appeared as Kang.  He is a better villain for an initial Fantastic Four movie than either Galactus or Dr. Doom.  That is because Kevin Feige is thinking long term in regards to the use of his villains.

Should investors then look to this book as more important than his first appearance as Kang? Both books should be ignored by speculators because the ability for a quick profit has long been gone. Instead, I believe that long-term investors who are looking to buy and hold these two books might be wise to do so.  This is not because of the villains, but rather because the villains appear in early issues of both the Avengers and Fantastic Four.  If you can find them then purchase both issues for the long term.  Think of these books as blue-chip stocks.  These books should be safe not because of the villains, but instead because of the heroes.

Bringing it all home

In conclusion, the announcements of future projects for the Marvel Cinematic Universe has brought into focus some investment opportunities.  For other properties, the outlook for good investment opportunities will require more patience or taking a bit of a gamble.  Remember everyone is speculating that the earthquake felt off the coast of Wakanda had something to do with Namor and Atlantis.  What if instead everyone was wrong and it was the Mole Man signaling his arrival in the MCU and his future involvement with the Fantastic Four?  Risk.  Assumptions.   The Marvel Cinematic Universe.
