Whose keys are going to be in high demand over the next couple of years, with Marvel ushering in this new era? Time for Marvel Keys You Need - Part 3. If you missed another part, check it out here.

Marvel Keys

Looking at the trends of "Gem" tier hero keys like Edge of Spider-verse #2, and NYX #3. We can start to pinpoint how others in the new generation could start to move after they get more of a push from Marvel. First, we look toward which characters are gaining momentum and start to follow from there. The two Marvel keys I want to look at today are already high up on the scale. "Gold" tier if you will.

Lunella Lafayette

Marvel Keys

Part of the new generation team is Lunella Lafayette, or Moon Girl. No doubt you've heard of, or probably even had a copy of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1. Which for most of us, has been a very hard fire to start. Well its finally starting to get some traction. Mostly due to the rumors of an animated series on the way from Disney. Whether or not this is going to be released soon, Lunella is certainly going to be apart of the big picture going forward.

There is a variant to look out for with this first issue. The Quinones Hip Hop variant is 85% jet black, while the original cover is almost pure white. So the 9.8 census for the two is going to be lower than normal covers, and with scarcity comes value. There is also a second printing if you're interested in those, however, I was unable to secure a print count for it. The original and variant are set up around the $100 - $120 point.

Spec Keys:

The Von Eeden variant is another one of those that instantly shot into space the moment everyone realized Lunella had a future. So if you're really interested, $650 - $800 is the price for a raw copy of her first variant. That being said, you could also go for some of the other cool keys in Moon Girl's set; such as Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #34. The first introduction of "Devin" Dino, Devil Dinosaur's human form.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #42 also features the introduction of the Pink Goblin. An ogre-like enemy that she and Spider-Man have to defeat together. With the Moon-Girl animated series coming out, there will likely be a lot of off-the-wall characters and enemies. As these spectacular characters often play well in this realm. I think the chances of seeing someone like Pink Goblin is very high. So we have a lot of options to choose from when it comes to speculation on the Dino Duo's future for the small screen.

Amadeus Cho

Marvel Keys

Amadeus Cho is an all-star when it comes to being a new generation hero. Whether he's going by Mastermind Excello, Hulk, or Brawn, Cho can hold his own in the ring of newbies. His first appearance is in Amazing Fantasy #15 (2005), which contains an immense amount of firsts; and is a beautiful homage cover. This is a highly recommended book for the modern age, and it's easy to see why it's already a hefty book in terms of price.

Currently, this excellent issue is demanding $300 - $500 for a raw copy; and a 9.8 slab will cost you near what an Ultimate Fallout #4 will. So I would recommend either waiting on this, grabbing a nice raw and grading it, or taking a slightly lower grade. This price point probably won't last long, as the ups and downs of this book lately have been crazy.

Spec Keys:

Cho has a ton of good keys, though none quite so good as his first. Amadeus' first appearance as Hulk is in Totally Awesome Hulk #1. This is also the first appearance of Lady Hellbender, making it a nice little multi-key. This would be another good grab for any Totally Awesome fans, especially when you can snap them up at around $10 - $20 at the moment. The Cho variant is another matter altogether. Another super cool homage cover, but to The Incredible Hulk this time, the variant is normally in the $200 range for a raw copy.

The next key to check out for Cho is The Incredible Hercules #133. This is the origin story for Amadeus and is essential for this character's key list. This title is around $15 for a raw copy and only $120 for a 9.8 slab. We may not see a large demand for this issue until the origin becomes important to a bigger circle than just Cho fans.

While Amadeus is commanding heavy prices for his first issue; there is a reason I've ranked him in the "Gold" tier. There are under ten 9.8's on the market right now. The last one sold on 8/31/20 for just over 1K. Over-saturation and inflation are normally the cause of mass holdings like this.

Final Remarks:

Lunella and Cho have already taken off, but that doesn't mean they are out of reach yet. There are still many opportunities to get in on some of these amazing titles. Especially when the majority of players are focusing on "Gem" tier characters at the moment like Spider-Gwen or Nyx.

We are in a golden wave of media attention and there are a lot of new heroes that are getting ready for their big breaks. I am particularly excited to see where these two are headed. These are both very strong-minded characters, who have the strength to back up anything they want to do. Which is what I think makes them so fun to read about.
