It's hard to believe we are at the final ComicConnect auction of the year. This year, the popular auction house has sold millions of dollars worth of comics, posters, VHS', and video games. For their final auction of the year, they're giving collectors a spread of hard-to-find video games across all eras. I've picked out a few of my favorite video games inspired by comic book heroes, perfect for collectors looking to get the perfect holiday gift for someone -- even if that person is you!

Batman and Robin for PlayStation

When Batman and Robin hit theaters in 1997, 11-year-old me was over the moon to have yet another Batman movie. In the movie's defense, it could have been worse, and it certainly entertained me as a kid! Much like with anything else Bat-related, Batman and Robin also got a video game tie-in. Batman and Robin for the Sony PlayStation by Acclaim. The game was a flop, as was the movie.

This sealed 9.4 A+ WATA+graded might be perfect for Batman collectors. The one-year average on 9.4 graded copies is $1,080, so if you're looking for this game you may luck out. It's not a particularly popular title but has a lot of appeal for a number of collectors. If you're looking to invest in this game you may want to steer clear.

Spider-Man for PlayStation

Spider-Man's universal appeal made him the perfect subject for the PlayStation 1 Spider-Man game, released in 2000. This game pre-dates the popular Sam Raimi films by only two years and even spawned three sequels. And long before he was making movie cameo appearances, Stan Lee acts as the narrator for the game.

This sealed 7.5 A+ WATA-graded unit is great and could be an affordable game for the right bidder. While there currently is no sales data for similar 7.5 examples, an 8.0 has a one-year average of $180. While there may be long-term potential for this game as an investment, this is better suited for collectors.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Nintendo Entertainment System

This 1989 side-scrolling action game was all the rage in my house in 1989. I had TMNT fever, and damn if I wasn't going to play the hell out of it! This game was difficult but featured stellar graphics and an easy-to-follow plot. By the end of 1990, the game had sold over 4 million copies worldwide, making itself a financial success for Konami. This game also gave the turtles their red eye masks as opposed to the different colors we see in the animated series.

This sealed 9.0 A WATA-graded copy presents extremely well, and while it isn't a 9.8, it's still a high grade for a video game released over 30 years ago. The one-year average for 9.0 copies is $4,213, and as with most TMNT items, there is interest in this game for both collectors and investors. Do not sleep on this game!

Swamp Thing for Nintendo

It's hard to believe that Swamp Thing was the subject of a video game, but in 1992 the hero was a big deal. With a live-action movie (and terrible sequel) and cartoon show, the character was popular enough to even get his own video game! Unfortunately, the video game didn't do well and received poor reviews due to the subpar graphics and difficulty.

This complete in box 8.5 WATA-graded copy presents well, with Swamp Thing front and center. Currently, there are no other 8.5 graded copies on the GoCollect census, but the one-year average for a 9.4 is $7,800 -- with prices only going up. It's possible this is a rare game to find graded, so if you're looking to invest in a game, this is it.
