This is my second article on Miles Morales comics to be hunting. The first one is available here and most of the books on this list are selling at all-time highs. Miles is the Spider-Man for future generations, and it is crazy to me how so many of his books have really small print runs. Once collectors become aware of these books they will likely disappear from the market.
Miles Morales Comics to Look For
Spider-Man Enter the Spider-Verse #1 1:10 Animation Variant
The main cover of this book was massively under ordered at less than 30,000 copies. This means that that there are less than 3,000 copies of this 1:10 variant. The cover is done in the style of Miles Morales from the massively popular Enter the Spider-Verse animated movie. There are not too many of these out there. I would be jumping on these now before they disappear.
I spoke about this cover in my last post about variants so I cannot avoid bringing it up here in this post about Miles. This cover is simply captivating. This #1 features the first time Miles had his own series in the main Marvel continuity. The print run on this book is very difficult to estimate. However, I put it around 10% of the total run which was around 100,000. These Marvel Hip-Hop variants are wildly underrated comics and in my opinion and this one of the very best.
Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man - #1 #2 and #3 1:25 Variants
You are really going to have to hunt if you want to find these books. They were criminally under ordered by retailers for some reason. I wrote about the 1:50 variant in my first post on Miles and how it is one of my favorite covers of the character. All the ratio variants of these books are becoming ghosts. Issue #1 had a print run of about 46,000, issue #2 was 38,000 and issue #3 was 37,000. 1:25 variants mean that there are a maximum of 4% of the total run but with print runs this small we are likely looking at less than 1,500 for #1 and less than 1,000 for #2 and #3.
Ultimate Comics All-New Spider-Man #2 – 2nd and 3rd Printings
The third appearance of Miles Morales is not a book to overlook. There is a 2nd printing in white that has a print run of about 10,000 and a 3rd in red with a print run so small Comichron did not track it. I suspect that there are less than 1,000 of these. There isn't even a listing for this book on GoCollect it is so rare.
Ultimate End #1 – Mark Bagley Variant
This Mark Bagley variant is an homage to the very first appearance of the Marvel Ultimate universe. I am not exactly sure what it is, but this cover really speaks to me. It seems fitting that Spider-Man launched the universe and a new Spider-Man ended it. There were five variants for Ultimate End #1, this one became available very late and was under ordered. You can pretty easily find this for less than $10. There are only 10 on the census.
Conclusion
I cannot see the momentum in Miles Morales comics slowing down anytime soon. It is shocking to me that so many of his early appearances have such small print runs. As time passes, many of these books will become very hard to track down.
