Moon Knight returns to Egypt in the third episode. It starts with the beat of hip pop-Egyptian music during the opening Marvel title credit. Unfortunately, that is when the "hip" left the episode. However, we finally meet the Midnight Man, so that was a plus - and it gives us something to speculate about.

Moon Knight Episode 3 was unique in a few scenes, but the plot was really all over the map. Also, the confusing story did not meet the high-water mark of the first episode. Where is a Moonie-speculator to find the Egyptian treasure in this clunky 3rd episode? Can investment in the Midnight Man be worthy of Khonshu's attention? Episode 3

Look, as stories go, Moon Knight is satisfactory - even superior to some of Marvel's past TV shows. This episode centers around Khonshu and Marc Spector being judged by the Egyptian pantheon. It is interesting seeing all the avatars of these gods in one meeting. But the outcome seemed anti-climactic. The adventure that unfolds pits Moon Knight against Midnight Man and his minions. Why? I am not entirely sure. Perhaps he knows Ammit's tomb or perhaps not. Hijinx ensue, Moon Knight is speared multiple times but survives, and the adventure continues.

Moon Knight': What Is the Release Date and Time for Episode 4?

The only standout in this episode was the actress playing Marc Spector's wife Layla El-Faouly. She is played by May Calamawy ,who does an outstanding job. Especially with the action. This is contrary to Midnight Man and his minions who are simply not believable on any level.

My hope is that the next episode goes down an intesting and more original path and hopefully it is not mummy tomb for the series as a whole. Currently, I give Moon Knight the TV show a grade of  "C" which means satisfactory, but not exceptional.

Midnight Man — Marvel Comics.jpgMidnight Man

The Midnight Man goes back to the original Moon Knight #3 comic book. He is an art thief. His gimmick is his name, "He always strikes at midnight!" Hence, Midnight Man, and that is the sum total of his persona. No powers, no special abilities other than he steals artifacts.

He can fight Moon Knight hand-to-hand but usually loses. His key book, Moon Knight #3 has value and is probably worthy of picking up. Take a look at the returns below...

Comic Grade Price Current Return Current
Moon Knight #3 9.8 $432 +8% -1 year
8.0 $130 +145%- 1-year

Speculation on Midnight Man Key

Speculating on the first appearance of  Midnight Man has probably paid off to this point. Especially if you sold the month before the show opened on Disney. However, now that Moon Knight has made his big entrance, the speculative frenzy is dying down.

If you own, sell now in the middle of the series. Your current one-year return for a grade 8.0 (which is pretty common) has been a +145%! Ca-Ching!

Conclusion

Ultimately those of you that have been speculating on moon items made some Moonie-money. Moon Knight #3 is one of those books that has probably helped you make that money.

Over time, this book will fade in value. If you own it, sell it while you can. After all, there are better portions of the Moon Knight saga to own. For instance, Moon Knight's second appearance in Werewolf By Night #33. I also like Moon Knight #1, his first comic book series. Either or both are good keys to own long-term. These are the "hip" keys, don't worry Khonshu will not call you a "parasite" for holding onto these gems.
