The May CGC concert poster auction ended on June 4th at 9pm EST. The Nirvana poster received top bid above the other Ultrasounds posters that were on auction. The 23 posters in the auction were all designed by the legendary concert poster artist Mike King. The 1991 Nirvana poster featuring Mudhoney sold for $1,920 and received 23 bids. This poster was plastered around the city to advertise this show that occurred one month after the release of Nirvana's album "Nevermind".

The concert posters that are in the Ultrasounds Collection were created in very small quantities and have low survival rates. The posters included in the Psychedelic Art Exchange auction were all independently authenticated and graded by CGC, the leading third-party authenticator of collectibles. All proceeds from the auction were donated to the artist Mike King.

This incredible collection is writing the history of concert posters. The bulk of the posters in the collection span the years between 1985 and 1995 and feature some of the most important bands of the era including Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Ramones, Suicidal Tendencies, and many others. You can check out the auction results on Psychedelic Art Exchange's website.
