After nearly three and a half months, this is the first week when we haven't had a weekly installment of an MCU Disney+ episode (FYI I wrote this article on April 30th). But at least we have a lot to look forward to, including Loki, which premieres on June 11, 2021. If it is anything like WandaVision and The Falcon & The Winter Soldier, it will spark wild speculation among the comic book collecting community.

The 1st Appearances of Mobius, Verity Willis, President & Kid Loki are Already Hot.

In fact, the speculation has already begun. The trailer and rumors about Loki have already driven up the value of issues related to the Mobius M. Mobius (see, e.g., Fantastic Four #353), President Loki (see Vote Loki #1), Verity Willis (see Loki: Agent of Asgard #2) and Kid Loki (see Thor #617). Over the past year, the value of Fantastic Four #353 has risen by nearly 231%, and Thor #617 by over 101%. Although there's very little sales data available for Vote Loki #1 and Loki: Agent of Asgard #2, a CGC 9.8 copy of Vote Loki #1 sold for $237.50 on April 29th. Raw copies of Agent of Asgard #2 have recently sold from $20 to $50 depending on the grade.

All of these books are hot and I generally recommend only buying the dip. That being said, I think Verity Willis's first appearance in Agent of Asgard #2 still has quite a bit of room to grow, especially if she does appear in the show.

Three other characters that could appear in the show, but haven't gotten quite as much attention are King and Lady Loki, and Throg.

Investors Haven't Yet Caught onto the 1st Appearance of King Loki.

We still don't know who the villain of the series will be. But if the show borrows significantly from the Agent of Asgard storyline, then the villain may be King Loki. First appearing at the very end of Loki: Agent of Asgard #1, The King is an older and extremist version of the god of Mischief, ultimately responsible for annihilating humanity in his timeline.

Loki has evolved into an anti-hero in the MCU; King Loki could represent what he could become. Unlike the speculation books discussed above, investors haven't caught onto his first appearance yet. You can still purchase raw, high-grade copies of this book for less than $10 on eBay. In my opinion, this is a low-risk investment with a potentially big upside.

Throg is Receiving His Own LEGO Figurine -- Is that a Sign of Things to Come?

Another character to speculate on is Throg. I say this mostly because Throg will be receiving his own Disney+ inspired LEGO figurine. Of course, this doesn't mean Throg will appear in the upcoming show, but it is an indicator worth considering.

According to the CGC Census, CGC has graded very few copies of Thor #364, and, accordingly, there's very little sales data available. Still, it's apparent that it hasn't caught on fire like Fantastic Four #353 and Thor #617 have. Although the value of CGC 9.8 copies of this book has risen by 70% during the past year, 9.6s have lost over 10% of their value during the same period of time. You can still purchase raw, high-grade copies of this book for around $25 on eBay.
