Kevin Feige has already laid the groundwork for several new Marvel teams. He has confirmed only one new team so far: the Fantastic Four. Although not yet confirmed, Feige has given us good reason to believe we'll eventually see the Agents of Atlas in the MCU. What does that mean to collectors?

Agents of Atlas in the MCU?

Although not confirmed, we all know the X-Men will appear eventually (and a mutant, Quicksilver, has appeared for the first time in the MCU on WandaVision). We'll also probably see some version of the Young Avengers too. Several members of that team have already appeared (Wiccan, Speed, and Stature) on an individual basis and Marvel has confirmed that more will appear soon (e.g., Kate Bishop's Hawkeye). Many have speculated on Youtube that we'll see the Thunderbolts as well, although that seems less certain.

Although not confirmed, Feige has given us good reason to believe we'll eventually see the Agents of Atlas in the MCU. I doubt most casual fans know anything about the Agents of Atlas. Lack of name recognition has never stopped Feige before, however; consider the Guardians of the Galaxy as an example. That said, even experienced collectors would be surprised to learn that Jimmy Woo, the leader of the Agents of Atlas, actually first appeared during the Silver Age in Yellow Claw #1 (1956).

Several members of the team have already appeared or will appear in the MCU. We've already seen Jimmy several times in the MCU, first in Ant-Man and the Wasp and then in several episodes of WandaVision. Shang-Chi will star in his own MCU movie which Marvel will release (fingers crossed) in July. And Cindy Moon, who's also Silk, has already appeared in Spider-Man homecoming.

Amazing Spider-Man #4: First Appearance of Silk

Cindy Moon, a.k.a., Silk, is a Korean-American superhero who gained her powers after being bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker. Like many books during the 21st century, Amazing Spider-Man #4 has several variants. According to GoCollect, the FMV of a CGC 9.8 copy of this book is already $270 and has risen by nearly 9% during the past year. During the past year alone, sellers on eBay have sold 67 CGC 9.8 copies of this book.

Totally Awesome Hulk #15: First Appearance of the Protectors

In a way, you could argue that Totally Awesome Hulk #15 contains the origin of the New Agents of Atlas. In this issue, Jimmy, Amadeus Cho, Shang-Chi, Cindy, and Kamala Khan defend New York City from an alien race. Based upon his experience fighting alongside these "protectors," Jimmy asks each of them if they'd like to join the New Agents of Atlas. Most of them join, except for Ms. Marvel.

Although this issue doesn't contain any first appearances, it lays the foundation for the New Agents of Atlas. According to GoCollect, the FMV of a CGC 9.8 copy of this book is $75 and has risen by 25% during the past year.

New Agents of Atlas #1 (2019):

It feels crazy to talk about a book that has an Avengers: Endgame advertisement on its back cover, but New Agents of Atlas #1,  released in May 2019, has jumped in value. According to GoCollect, the FMV of a CGC 9.8 copy of this book is $90 and has risen by 18% during the past year. During the past year alone, sellers on eBay have sold 87 CGC 9.8 copies of this book.

This book contains many first appearances, including the first appearance of Luna Snow (a K-Pop superhero), Crescent & Io, Aero, Wave, and Sword Master (who appears on the cover only). With so many first appearances, it comes as no surprise that so many speculators want this book.
