Although more well-known for sales of sports cards, comic collectors can often find great deals for key issues through PWCC's weekly auctions. If you enjoy collecting comic books related to the MCU (like much of the current market), take a look at some of the comics PWCC has up for its weekly auction ending on April 9th (extended bidding occurs on April 11th). PWCC is auctioning the first appearance of the Thunderbolts (2024 movie release), a key issue for Adam Warlock (who will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next month), and the first Silver Age appearance of Ka-Zar (more of an MCU speculation pick on my part).

Incredible Hulk #449 (Marvel, 1997) CGC 9.6 White Pages

Incredible Hulk #449 features the first appearance of the Thunderbolts. Confirmed to appear in their own film during the summer of 2024, the Thunderbolts are Marvel's response to the Suicide Squad. While most of the characters in the film are different from those that appear in this book, Hulk #449 has been a hot book for a couple of years.

During March 2023, the sales price of a 9.6 copy of this book fluctuated wildly. On March 10th, one lucky buyer purchased a 9.6 for a mere $89 through an auction hosted by eBay. In comparison, on March March 1st, another buyer purchased another 9.6 for $360 through a fixed-priced sale on eBay.

Both of these sales appear to be outliers, and most other recent sales for 9.6s have typically been in the $150 to $225 range. According to GoCollect, the FMV for a 9.6 is $190. As of Friday morning on March 9th, the current bid on PWCC is $56.

Fantastic Four #67 (Marvel, 1967) CGC 6.0 Off-White Page

Fantastic Four #67 features the first appearance of Him, a character who would later become known as Adam Warlock. We've known that Adam would appear since 2017 when we saw Adam's cocoon appear in a post-credits scene in Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2. We see this cocoon for the first time in Fantastic Four #67.

During the past two months, the sales price of a 6.0 copy of this book issue has also varied quite a bit. For example, on March 26th, one buyer got a 6.0 for a great price -- $172 -- through an auction hosted by eBay. In comparison, in mid-February, another buyer purchased another 6.0 for $300 through a fixed-priced sale on eBay.

Most other recent sales for the 6.0s have typically been in this range. According to GoCollect, the FMV for a 6.0 is $190. As of Friday morning on March 9th, the current bid on PWCC is only $54.

X-Men #10 (Marvel, 1965) CGC 7.0 Cream to Off-White Pages

This is an undervalued Silver Age key in my opinion. The Savage Land provides the perfect setting for Marvel to explain the origins of mutant-kind since the Savage Land is the home of the Mutates, genetically altered natives. The Savage Land also presents a new storytelling opportunity for Disney since we've never seen the Savage Land before in a Marvel-related film. And I think audiences would love to see a mash-up of the MCU with Jurassic Park on the big screen.

Lastly, we did see an easter egg for the Savage Land during Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when Dr. Strange and America Chavez briefly pass through a world that had a tyrannosaurus rex in it.

Just over a year ago, a 7.0 sold for $1,700 during the tail end of the "comic boom." Like most comics, the value of this book has come back down to earth. According to GoCollect, the FMV for a 7.0 is $600. As of Friday morning on March 9th, the current bid on PWCC is only $105.
