Matz and Luc Jacamon are bringing back THE KILLER in the new series THE KILLER: AFFAIRS OF THE STATE.

The press release follows:

Media Release -- BOOM! Studios today announced the return of the Eisner Award-nominated series THE KILLER by acclaimed French artist Luc Jacamon and writer Matz (The Black Dahlia), with a brand new six-issue series AFFAIRS OF THE STATE, bringing readers into the Killer’s high-stakes world of espionage and contract killing before the upcoming Netflix film directed by David Fincher (The Social Network), written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Se7en), and starring Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class).

Caught and put to work as an on-call assassin for the French government, Killer has to adjust to working with a handler, a partner, and living life as a civilian. An underhanded target, a City Hall employee, leads Killer and his partner, Nicolas, toward a sinister web of city-wide corruption. But while Nicolas assures Killer that it’s all for the greater good, will Killer ever be able to get back to his nihilistic lifestyle, free from debt and government associations?

THE KILLER: AFFAIRS OF THE STATE #1 features main cover art by series artist Jacamon, and variant covers by highly acclaimed illustrators Jonboy Meyers (Venom), Francesco Francavilla (Afterlife with Archie), Reiko Murakami (Refrigerator Full of Heads), and Junggeun Yoon (Power Rangers).

“AFFAIRS OF THE STATE is a sophisticated, slow-burn experience with crimes so timely and art so slick it's easy to get sucked into the Killer's cynical frame of mind,” said Kathleen Wisneski, Editor, BOOM! Studios. “Jacamon and Matz are incredible at making you want to spend time with the Killer, even as we see him at his worst, so step into this cool, noir thriller and get lost in their world.”
