Goldin's latest Elite auction closed over the weekend and definitely delivered on the hype! We saw records across different types of collectibles, sales indicative of emerging collectible markets, and plenty more worth talking about. Here's a look at some of the most notable sales. Among the thousands of incredible items that were up for bidding, some of the highlights of the auction included:

CGC 6.5 Detective Comics #27: $1,740,000

That's right. A new all-time high for the first appearance of Batman has been set - and the bar is strong at $1.74M. No comic fan needs an explanation as to why this book is seeing new records set - and it's no stranger to the million-dollar marker.

This is not the first time this comic has broken the $1M barrier. A CGC 8.0 realized 1,075,500 in Feb, 2010. A 5.0 reached $1,125,000 in June, 2021, a 4.5 sold for $1,140,000 in January of this year, and a 7.0 came the closest in Nov, 2020 with $1,500,000.

Before this sale, the most recent appearance of a CGC 6.5 at auction brought in $567,625.00, and that was all the way back in 2013.

For a book with such an epic impact on the future of the comic industry, it's easy to see why buyers felt the need to step it up a notch.

Doncic has ascended to the highest echelon of NBA superstardom, and recently won the first playoff series of his career in a six-game dismantling of the Utah Jazz."

Debut jersey from Julius Erving’s rookie season: $522,000

This isn't just the highest-priced Dr. J item ever sold. It's also the highest-priced ABA item ever sold!

1971-72 was Hall of Famer Julius Erving’s rookie year with the Squires, and he was the ABA’s best-known player. Erving assisted with launching the NBA’s trendsetting, modern style that highlighted playing above the rim.

Erving averaged 27.3 points per game in his debut season of the former ABA, leading the Virginia Squires to a 45-39 record.

Presented here is one of the red road uniforms – jersey and shorts, worn by "Dr. J" during the 1971-72 season.
