Spider-Man and Red Sonja Team Up to Take on Venom and Kulan Gath!!!

March 21, 2007, Runnemede, NJ - Dynamite Entertainment and Marvel Comics jointly announce that they have expanded their cross-over agreement! The next team up will feature Red Sonja with Marvel's Spider-Man! The crossover event marks the first time the characters have teamed up since the now classic Marvel Team-Up #79 (Marvel, 1979) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne.

Set as a Five-Issue event Limited Series, the Spider-Man/Red Sonja crossover will feature Red Sonja's "Dynamite" creative team of writer Michael Avon Oeming, artist Mel Rubi and colorist Brian Buccellato. Marvel's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man and Dynamite's She-Devil with a Sword are teaming up to battle the combined villainy of Kulan Gath and Venom! Covers for the series will be provided by none other than artist extraordinaire, Michael Turner.

Dynamite's Nick Barrucci stated, "With this crossover we're touching on some of the greatest comic stories ever told, and it's an absolute honor. Having the opportunity to team Red Sonja with one of the world's most iconic characters, Spider-Man, is also a credit to Red Sonja's regular creative team of Oeming, Rubi and Buccellato, who have handled the She-Devil's sword-swinging adventures every bit as masterfully as the legendary creators before them. And of course, we're very pleased to be working with our good friends at Marvel once more. This is the team up no one ever thought they would see again- with that in mind, we are working closely with Marvel to ensure this crossover has real meaning to the fans, as well as the continuity of both franchises."

"Based on the success of the Marvel Zombies/Army of Darkness crossover, we're thrilled to be able to bring another exciting partnership, pairing two incredibly popular characters and presented by a stellar creative team," says Marvel's President and Publisher Dan Buckley.

The Spider-Man/Red Sonja team up is the second scheduled crossover for Marvel and Dynamite Entertainment, as the news follows the release of the sold out Marvel Zombies vs. the Army of Darkness #1.
