We’ve had two more episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and we’re now a full month into the series, so it’s time to take another look to see how the market is reacting.

Daredevil Yellow

We finally got our first hint of Daredevil at the end of Episode 5 when fashion designer Luke Jacobson closed up a box with Daredevil’s gold helm contained within. So, clearly we’ll be seeing Daredevil soon and we’ll see him in the gold suit, a nod to his original yellow costume. Even though Daredevil #1 is a big Silver Age key, it’s worth checking in to see if the goings-on in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had any impact on sales.

There are 5,760 graded copies of Daredevil #1 in the CGC census. There have been six sales since Episode 5 premiered on September 15. Of those, a 7.0 selling for $8,875 in an eBay auction on September 15 represents the highest sale. This is coming right off the heels of a 9.6 graded copy selling in a Heritage auction on September 12 for $111,000. There were three other graded copies of Daredevil #1 sold in that same Heritage auction.

Back to that 7.0, the sale price of $8,875 is 13.8 higher than the previous sale price of $7,800 in a Heritage auction on June 22, which in turn is down considerably from a February 22 sale price of $14,400, again in a Heritage auction. So, it looks like we may have hit a floor for this book in the 7.0 grade. There was a similar uptick in the sale of a 6.0 graded copy. In the lower grades, both a 3.0 and a 1.8 saw sales similar to previous ones, not an uptick but not a decrease either.

Savage Volume Increase

Now that we’re a month in, we can take a look at some She-Hulk keys to see how they’re performing relative to the month prior. Savage She-Hulk #1 has seen a 16.8% increase in sales of graded copies, from 184 copies sold the month leading up to the premiere of the series on August 18 to 215 copies sold since.

The 30-day average price for a 9.6 graded copy currently stands at $282, while the 90-day average price is at $292. So, we’re seeing a drop in price since August 18 but not markedly so. Both averages, however, are more than $100 below the 1-year average of $403.

Sensational Volume Increase

We’ve also seen a big jump in sales volume for Sensational She-Hulk #1. There were 49 sales leading up to August 18, and 67 sales since, for an increase in volume of 36.7%. Prices are showing a similar trajectory to Savage She-Hulk #1: 30-day average price of $192 for a 9.8, 90-day average of $203, compared against a 1-year average of $245.

Demand is there for both books, as evidenced by the volume. However, prices are down based on the overall state of the market and ample supply.

Who is Luke Jacobson?

I mentioned Luke Jacobson earlier in the piece, and he is actually a character from Marvel Comics. He debuted in Dakota North #1, cover dated May 1986. This previously ignored comic has received some attention since September 15, with three 9.8 graded copies selling for an average price of $220.

Considering no 9.8s sold in August, I would say that counts as an uptick in volume. The high price paid for this book came on February 7 in an eBay best offer sale for a slashed $795, meaning current prices are down markedly from the heady days of the peak of the comic boom.

If you’re looking to move what was, prior to 2022, a $100 book, you should see a nice return on your investment, and - perhaps - some willing buyers.
