March PREVIEWS Spotlights Spawn Month

by Jeff

(BALTIMORE, MD) — (March 11, 2009) — May is Spawn Month and the March issue of PREVIEWS, the comic shop’s catalog, celebrates with a cover featuring Image Comics’ best-selling Hellspawn!

May heralds the release of the SPAWN: ARCHITECTS OF FEAR 64-page graphic novel from writer Arthur Claire and artist Aleski Briclot (the creative team behind Spawn: Simony), which finds an elite group of Angels known as the Caste of Architects turning to Spawn when one of their living weapons becomes uncontrollable. Responsible for absorbing damned souls to prevent them from entering Hell, this weapon has now turned on the innocent. But to secure Spawn’s help, the Architects have put his brother in harm’s way, which may not have been the best of ideas.

But that’s not the only fan-favorite creative team reuniting. Writer Mike Carey and artist Peter Gross – the Eisner-nominated team behind Lucifer – team to present Vertigo’s THE UNWRITTEN #1, PREVIEWS’ back cover this month.

Priced at just $1.00, this 40-page issue introduces readers to Tom Taylor, the basis for a fictional boy wizard from one of the world’s most popular novel series. But what if the world of the novels isn’t so fictional? What if Tom really is the boy wizard? Now, Tom will search through other literary works that have seen fiction and reality cross paths to learn the truth about himself, which may also lead to him learning more about the cabal behind it!
