Few comic book characters have taken off in the last few years like Miles Morales.  From comics to oscar-winning films to best-selling video games, it seems like the character is everywhere.  With that popularity comes incredible investment potential for the character and the unique corner of the world he occupies.  The goal of this article is to provide investors with recommendations for Miles books that, over time, could generate an incredible return.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #2

When it comes to long-term investments for certain characters, I am a big believer in investing in their supporting casts.  And nobody in Miles' supporting cast has made more appearances than Ganke Lee, who first appeared in this issue.  Ganke is Miles' best friend and confidant.

To provide some context, Earth-616 Peter Parker has 4271 appearances according to the Marvel Wiki.  His most consistent supporting cast member, Mary Jane Watson, has 1120 appearances, which comes out to about 26% of Peter's total appearances.  Miles has 473 registered appearances and Ganke has 107, which comes out to about 23%.  Now, obviously, Ganke and MJ occupy very different roles in the lives of Miles and Peter, respectively, but the point still stands about their relative significance and parity.

The current FMV for a CGC 9.8 copy of this book is $270 which, in the long run, is an absolute steal.  Miles Morales has existed for a little over ten years now and has only grown in prominence.  As he marches forward into his second decade of existence, the biggest supporting character will almost certainly continue to rise in prominence as well.  Collectors and Investors should also be on the lookout for the vastly rarer second and third prints of this book as well.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #6

This book features the first appearance of Tiana Toomes, the granddaughter of the Vulture who goes by the codename Starling.  If you have read any of Starling's appearances, you know the connection between her and Miles is electric.  In many ways, she is the Black Cat to Miles' Peter Parker, an analogy that even creator Saladin Ahmed used when describing how the character came to be.  That said, Starling is very much her own person and her relationship with her villainous grandfather has an incredible pathos to it.  If ever there was a character with long-term potential, it would be Starling.

The current FMV for a CGC 9.8 copy of this book is $140.  That feels a bit high right now, but I am not sure how much lower the FMV will ever dip.  Even amidst record inflation and concerns of a recession, this book has not lost too much value.  That indicates a remarkable demand and resiliency that should make this book much more appealing to investors.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25

If there is one thing that Spider-Man writers and editors seem to love, its stories about clones that keep coming backAgainAnd AgainAnd againAnd againAnd againAnd again.  So if Marvel's brass is going to keep bringing clones back, investors would be wise to start investing in them.  That is why this book, which contains the first appearance of Miles' clone Selim, is such a good investment.  There is so much history to indicate Selim will be a big part of Miles stories for years to come.

The current CGC 9.8 FMV of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #25 is $50.  That's nothing!!  That is a pittance compared to the heights this book could one day reach.  For context, the CGC 9.8 FMV of Amazing Spider-Man #149 (first appearance of Peter Parker's clone) is $6,000.

It will be decades before MMSM #25 reaches that level, but it still underscores the potential at play here.  Now is the time to strike before the wider market catches on.
