Well, what did I say? About a year ago, I wrote a piece regarding Riri Williams/Ironheart, calling her the “MCU’s next breakout star.” Since that fateful afternoon in June of 2020, not only has Ironheart been cast in the MCU (Dominique Thorne will portray her) but she has also been confirmed to appear in Ryan Coogler’s forthcoming Black Panther sequel, with leaked images of Thorne on-set popping up online a few days ago. With all of that said, I think it’s time to catch up with Ironheart.

Let's Catch Up With Ironheart

For those of you who are still unaware of who Ironheart actually is, allow me to bring you up to speed. Riri Williams made a cameo appearance in Invincible Iron Man #7 back in May of 2016, before making her proper debut two issues later.

Williams is a certified genius, attending MIT. However, she is more well-known for creating a suit of armour that rivals that of one Tony Stark. Since her debut in the comic book form, Williams has appeared in episodes of Marvel’s Spider-Man on Disney XD as well as multiple video games such as Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 and Marvel Strike Force

In December of last year, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige unveiled plans for a Ironheart solo series on Disney+, with a tease that the character would make her live-action debut before the series. Of course, we now know that this debut will be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is due out next summer. Catch_Up_Ironheart

Where Is Ironheart Now?

Since all of this has happened, Ironheart keys have gone through the roof. Back in June of last year, a 9.8 grade of her cameo debut and full-debut sold for $120 (USD) and $299 (USD), respectively. For comparison’s sake, these books are now being sold for $230 (USD) and $575 (USD), respectively.

That is some pretty decent growth, especially for a relatively new character who has yet to even grace the silver screen. Just think of how much these books are going to go for once Williams pops up in the Black Panther sequel!

Luckily for you, there is still time. Williams’ first two appearances are easy to track down on eBay, and while they can be rather pricey, I really believe they will only rise as the character becomes a more integral and popular part of the MCU. If you were to invest, I say look for some bidding listings. Who knows? You could snatch up a bargain if you play your cards right.

What do you guys think? Will you invest in Williams, or do you think that boat has sailed… At least for now?
