He will give up various secrets and shortcuts to drawing a superhero figure that any pro learns throughout years of drawing superhero comics. Colorists are the unsung heroes of the comic book page. What are the dynamics of this high demand comics industry job, and how can you be a part of it? Join Aspen Comics superstar colorist Peter Steigerwald as he examines the color process between the lines and beyond. Steigerwald is a veteran of the comic book industry first breaking in at Top Cow Productions in the 90s. Along the path of his successful coloring career, Steigerwald has colored the popular Aspen titles Soulfire and Fathom as well as coloring covers for such events as Marvel's Civil War and DC Comics' Identity Crisis and much more. Brian Wood: The Art of The Proposal

Writer Brian Wood (DMZ, Northlanders, Local) offers a hands-on discussion and workshop on the finer points of preparing a comic book proposal, from thinking conceptually to structure and form to useful information on sending your pitch out into the world. Participants are encouraged to bring pre-existing proposals to the class, or be prepared to create one in the workshop. Writing materials or a laptop required. Brian Wood has twelve years experience creating comics, as well as several years in the video-game industry. Working almost exclusively on creator-owned projects, his insights into building a comic book project from scratch would be useful to any writer or artist looking to hone their craft.
