Ever since the MCU rumors began, Alpha Flight key issues have been hot. Here are three to watch as we wait to see if the news pans out.

At the end of June, the word on the internet - which can undoubtedly be trusted - has been that Marvel Studios has discussed bringing Alpha Flight to the MCU. This would make sense, considering the studio leans toward the lesser-known characters, at least in the eyes of mainstream audiences.

Will Alpha Flight make it to live-action, either on the big screen or on Disney+? If so, will they debut ahead of the X-Men? Those are questions we will have to wait to answer, but in the meantime, let’s look closer at the market for Bronze Age Alpha Flight.

KEY ISSUES FOR ALPHA FLIGHT

Alpha FlightUNCANNY X-MEN #120

This is one of those unusual circumstances where the first cameo appearance outshines the first full and cover appearance.

All the grades for UXM #120 have been on the way up. 9.8 has the most impressive figures. Over the last three months, it has averaged $2,638. That is nearly $500 above its 2019 fair market value and more than $600 past the 2018 FMV.

The higher grades are what collectors are after. The best seller has been the 9.6. After trading hands 11 times in the past 90 days, it has accumulated a $563 FMV. Two years ago, this was a $407 comic.

Next in line is the 9.2, which has sold eight times in the same span. After staying in the $120-$130 range in 2018 and 2019, it has nearly cracked the $200 average.

If those are too much for your investment dollars, you can always opt for a mid-grade copy. The 6.0, for one, has been selling for $50, which is reasonable for what is still a nice grade.

Alpha FlightUNCANNY X-MEN #121

While Uncanny X-Men #120 may be the actual debut of Alpha Flight, they are in full glory on the cover of Uncanny X-Men #121, and that is what makes this issue the hotter of the two.

Speaking of value, every grade of UXM#121 that has sold in the past three months has been on the rise. Starting at the top, the 9.8 is averaging $713 in that span.

In terms of volume sold, there is no competition between these two issues. Overall, UXM #120 garners the better values, but #121 is the bigger seller. The 9.6 has sold 18 times in three months, and its average has increased to $246. Then there is the 9.4, which has been swapped a dozen times online in the same span. Two years ago, it averaged below $130, but it has a 90-day average of $183. The last copy sold went for $225 in July.

Alpha FlightX-MEN #109

If you are rushing to collect those Alpha Flight keys, you have to add X-Men #109 to the list. Although the team itself did not debut for another year, the seeds for Alpha Flight began with the debut of another Weapon X project, Weapon Alpha, also known as Vindicator.

Thinking of getting a copy? Lucky for you, prices are down at the moment. The 9.8 has sold six times on average for $967. Keep in mind that it sold for $1,100 a year ago.

The most popular grade has been 9.6. After selling seven times in the past 90 days, it has earned an FMV of $379, and it last sold for $375 a month ago.
