Operations Manager
(Full-Time, Salaried)

Assists the Executive Director and Board in the further development of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund with an emphasis on managing the day-to-day operations of the organization. The Operations Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for day-to-day financial processes of organization including: entry of convention and donation income; bank deposits; bill entry; preparation of materials for treasurer and financial contractors; and hands-on activities as needed (e.g. QuickBooks, incoming cash/credit transactions, and payments) to fill gaps in outside services.
* Management of day-to-day office activities, including management of supply and fundraising premium physical inventories
* Management of fulfillment for membership & premiums;
* Management of mailings including membership fulfillment and fundraising solicitations;
* Responding to donor inquiries.
* Representing the organization at conventions and events
* Recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers for office and offsite tasks
* Send donor receipts and acknowledgments;
* Preparation of forms for services, including insurance, utilities, and supply vendors, with the oversight of the Executive Director;

The Operations Manager will also be expected to assist in public Development functions, including attendance at events and conventions in New York and across the country.

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience in administration of small non-profit organization or trade association;
* Experience with retail and customer service;
* Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
* Experience with design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat, preferred
* Strong knowledge of comic book products
* Strong financial, analytical and organizational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organization in public
* Ability to work under pressure and balance numerous priorities simultaneously
* Experience with project/organizational management and strategic planning;
* Experience with recruitment, supervision and training of staff and volunteers,
* Knowledge and understanding of the comic book industry,
* Knowledge and understanding of First Amendment advocacy

Development Manager
(Full-Time, Salaried)

The Development Manager of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund assists the Executive Director and Board in the further development of the organization, with an emphasis on advancing the organization's fundraising program. The Development Manager is responsible for oversight of the organization's fundraising program, including, but not limited to:

* Planning and managing convention and event appearances, and associated logistics.
* Represent the organization at conventions and events;
* Development and implementation of membership program;
* Developing and managing local and national events;
* Developing fundraising premiums and incentives;
* Managing web store and Diamond solicitations;
* Developing and maintaining an ongoing auction program;
* Developing and maintaining relationships with talent, pursuant to generating donations
* Developing and maintaining relationships with retailers for fundraising purposes, including membership, donations, and Missionfish.
* Recruiting and supervising regional teams of volunteers for fundraising purposes;
* Generating promotional copy for fundraising initiatives for deployment on CBLDF website and other avenues
* Maintenance and development of Social Networks and other web marketing

The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director. The Development Manager will also participate in operations functions, including processing of cash at conventions, and assisting the operations manager in cashier functions.

The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund was founded in 1986 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of First Amendment rights for members of the comics community.
