Jim Valentino ComicsWriter/artist/editor/publisher Jim Valentino is the latest contributor to our Second Annual SDCC Autograph Card/CBLDF Auction event! His original artwork will be donated to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund's auction at San Diego Comic-Con this year, which raises money to protect the First Amendment rights of the comics community.

Valentino has had a long and prestigious career in comics, starting out in the 1970s with his own autobiographical comics and then working on such titles as Guardians of the Galaxy and What If? at Marvel. In 1992, he and a group of artists including Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, and Rob Liefeld formed Image Comics, where he formed his own Shadowline imprint.

This year, Valentino has collaborated on the upcoming Fractured Fables hardcover, as well as Image United! He also relaunched ShadowHawk, his popular creator-owned series.

Valentino's artwork–as well as that from all of our participating publishers and creators–will also be turned into free limited-edition autograph cards that we will be giving away for free at Comic-Con! If you're headed to San Diego later this month, make sure to visit their booths, as well as the TFAW booth, to pick up yours. They'll go fast, so make sure to track down yours early!
