Since the premature conclusion of the Netflix series in 2018, fans have wondered where the Man Without Fear will appear next. If certain rumours regarding his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home are to be believed, I must ask the question, is it finally Daredevil's time to shine?

Daredevil is one of the most unique Marvel characters. A tonally diverse figure, Daredevil’s runs are sometimes happy, other times sad and every now and then? Well, every now and then, they are a bit of both. daredevil-time-spiderman

Is It Finally Daredevil's Time To Shine?

Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, made his first comic book appearance in April of 1964. Daredevil was the last of Marvel’s insane hits of the early 60s. Daredevil #1 hit newsstands after the likes of the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, Spider-Man and Iron Man. Unlike his Marvel co-stars, who went on to have successful films and shows, Daredevil has never really had mainstream success. The 2003 Daredevil movie wishes it was half as successful as 2005’s critical-dud, but box office hit Fantastic Four

daredevil-time-finallyTo paraphrase Alfred Molina, Daredevil’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home is “probably the worst kept secret in Hollywood.” Originally theorised on Reddit, and later confirmed by Murphy’s Multiverse, Charlie Cox is set to reprise his role as Matt Murdock in the upcoming Spider-Man threequel, however… Apparently, the Daredevil who appears in the film will likely be a soft-rebooted version of the character. Sure, if you’re a fan of the show, this kinda sucks. However… We are still seeing Charlie Cox reprise the role, so I’ll take whatever I can get.

Now, that’s not what I really wanted to talk about today. Instead, I wanna look at the character’s first appearance, as well as his first ‘team-up’ with Spider-Man, which occurred in The Amazing Spider-Man #16.

What Does This Mean For Daredevil Keys?

Here’s a fun one for you, Electro - who will appear in No Way Home as played by Jamie Foxx - actually had his second comic book appearance in? You guessed it, a Daredevil comic. Daredevil #2, in fact! daredevil-time-finally

There are four key Daredevil comics that I really believe people will go nuts following, and even just before, the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Of course, you’ve got your usual suspects such as Daredevil #1 and the previously mentioned The Amazing Spider-Man #16. However, I would keep an eye on Daredevil #2, which as I said, did feature the second appearance of Electro. A 9.6 grade sold for its highest price ever in April for over $11,200 (USD) at ComicConnect. While Daredevil is known for his red and black costume, that didn’t make its first comic book appearance until Daredevil #7, so I’d keep an eye on that book too.

Since that rumour about Cox reprising his role in No Way Home, all these books have seen significant growth in sales and interest. In fact, a 9.6 grade of Daredevil #1 sold for its highest figure yet after those rumours dropped back in April of this year, selling for $150,000 (USD).

Wrapping up

Daredevil is one of those great characters that, once reintroduced in the grander MCU, will likely stick around. There have also been some rumblings that after No Way Home, the character will pop up on the She-Hulk show on Disney+.

As I have discussed before, Daredevil keys really needed one thing: Time. And by the looks of it? That time is up.

Daredevil has certainly taken his time, but I think we are about to see a beautiful resurgence in the character’s popularity, and that all begins with Spider-Man: No Way Home.

You can quote me here, I think it’s finally Daredevil’s time to shine. So, if I were you, and I had the opportunity to go for it? I would get on top of those Daredevil keys before it’s too late.
