Robert Kirkman's "Invincible" took the world by storm last year on Amazon Prime. The little- talked about comic series turned television show blew up and was praised for its storytelling and beautiful animation. This caused early Invincible keys to skyrocket in price, and more will. Let's see if we can guess which ones and grab them while they are still affordable. *Warning: Contains a few spoilers about the show and the comics!

Invincible Returns #1

One of the most undervalued Invincible books in the entire run, this one-shot contains the first appearance of the leader of the Viltrumites- Grand Regent Thragg. One of the main villains in the run, it is almost certain he will show up at some point. If not in season 2, then definitely 3. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a brief cameo of him at the end of season two, at the very least.

If you thought Battle Beast was tough, just wait to see what Thragg is capable of, and his reasons behind doing so. You can snag ungraded copies of the first print for around $20-$25 at the moment and graded 9.8 copies have a current FMV of $240.

There are multiple variants and a second printing as well. With such a low print run and a major first appearance, this book has uncapped potential.

Invincible #16

With a low print run, like most of these early Invincibles, and the first appearance of one of Mark's earliest arch-enemies, this is one to grab. It is the first appearance of Angstrom Levy, who has been confirmed by Kirkman to be in season 2.

The time-traveling mastermind with a vicious grudge against Mark will make for excellent television whenever the next season drops. It'll also make this book pop. It holds a current FMV of just  $160 in a CGC 9.8.

Not to mention, Levy was a major player throughout the run. So, if we see him in season 2, we will see him again even if we are made to think we won't. I would pick up as many of these as possible.

Invincible #61

What's the next best thing to Thragg?

How about his right-hand man, Conquest?

We will likely see him before Thragg, just like in the books.

Conquest shows up quite a bit in the run and plays an important role. He will certainly be seen at some point in the series.

It's never too early to pick it up, as it only has a current FMV of $190 in a CGC 9.8.

Invincible #1

There's not much to say here. It's the first appearance of our beloved Mark Grayson and this book will certainly see another big bump once a trailer drops for season 2, just like how it skyrocketed during the season 1 craze.

If you can snag one at a decent price, now is a great time as the Invincible hype is at its lowest point since season 1.

The CGC 9.6 has held pretty steady over the last year. When it comes to sales averages, the 1-year sales averaged $1,874. The 90-day average was slightly higher at $2,065 and the 30-day came back down to $1,986.

Invincible #19

This book is the first appearance of Battle Beast, Magmaniac, and Tether Tyrant. All three villains are sprinkled in the Invincible series for most of the run. Especially Battle Beast, who plays the biggest role, and already made a big splash in the show.

Maybe we even see Battle Beast vs. Thragg, like in the books? All will return in one way or another and it's another book to grab while the Invincible train isn't fully running again yet. It has a current FMV of $280 in a CGC 9.8.

In conclusion...

If you picked up the major Invincible keys in time for season 1, it turned out to be a very lucrative move. With the surprising success of the show, season 2 could have similar benefits if we can find the right books to buy.

Invincible took the world by storm, pushing the boundaries of what a superhero show can be. Books like these could pay off big time, with major first appearances and many with print runs below 10,000.
