Everyone is talking about Marvel and DC, but you know what they are not talking about? Indie comics! Want to know which to watch for or which will make it to the big screen? Keep Reading below! Some say that indie comics are non-super hero books, but that is not the case. Indie comics are made by smaller companies with smaller budgets. They don't have the benefit of having a large corporation like Disney backing them. However comics like Archie are not called indie's, because they are well established giving them an edge over others.

Even though indie's do not get the love they deserve on the shelves of your local comic shop (LCS) they are starting to hit the TV and Movie screens. So while everyone is chasing the next big Marvel movie, I say you should jump on these before the iron strikes and get ahead of everyone else.

Here are 3 Indie comics hitting the screen in the near future...

Stealth #1

This comic hasn't even been published, yet it is receiving tons of buzz.  Created by Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead, Oblivion Song) and Marc Silvestri (Witchblade, Cyber Force), this is the perfect comic for Black Panther and Iron man fans, .  To do it justice I included Image Comics description: "For decades, Stealth has waged war on crime in Detroit, but now he’s taken his pursuit of justice too far. Only reporter Tony Barber knows that behind Stealth’s reckless behavior is an older man battling Alzheimer’s—his father. A father unwilling to accept that he’s no longer the hero this city needs… with enemies all too eager to force his retirement." (Image)

Stealth #1 (Diamond Code JAN200138) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. But you can still grab Stealth #1 Pilot Season before March! This is like an ashcan version of the book created back in 2010 under Top Cow.

Lady Mechanika #0

Named "Lady Mechanika" she is the lone survivor of a mad scientists horrific body experiments which left her with mechanical limbs.  Now a private detective she goes out and helps the police fight crime and solve cases, while uncovering her past. Set in turn of the century England, this steampunk styled story will have everyone asking for more. It puts a great twist in what we all consider a hero. As of December 2019, this comic is in development with Amazon probably to hit their streaming service, unknown whether it will be a show or movie yet.

The Bunker #1

The Bunker by Josh Fialkov and Joe Infurnari is a story about the end of the world's population. With the population of the world dying, those responsible for it send a bunker back in time in order to prevent the end. Five kids happen to come across the bunker only to uncover their names stamped on the walls. With no information and a futuristic bunker who knows if the end will be prevented. In my opinion, it has the same feel and mystery as the show LOST did but better. As of November 2019, it is in development with NBC to be a TV show coming up. I for one cannot wait!

Bottom Line

Bottom Line, all of these books are currently still cheap in raw form. Little by little teasers and new articles are coming out slowly increasing the demand of them and thus the prices. I say jump on them now while they are still cheap and before the craze starts during their premieres. These are 3 of the best I believe will increase in value and would make for great TV and Movie adaptations. McFarlane opened the door with Spawn and allowed artists from all genres to have a voice. He may be right when he said, indie comics are the future.
