The Incredible Hulk #449All that Incredible Hulk #449 speculation from last summer is about to pay dividends thanks to a major rumor connected to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

The word on the street is that the Thunderbolts will make their debut in the upcoming Disney+ series. While it may only be speculation at this point, this bit of news is likely going to pan out on screen.

Last year, the hot rumor was that Marvel Studios was putting together a Thunderbolts feature film and that sparked sales for what has often been an overlooked issue. Since then, the Thunderbolts movie news front has been relatively quiet, but this will rekindle the speculative fires. As far as the movie, I was skeptical it would pan out, but this latest news is more believable.

In its original iteration, the team was a front for supervillains who conned the world into believing they were heroes. Of course, the team was led by Baron Zemo. Actor Daniel Bruhl will reprise his role as Zemo for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It also makes sense that a large part of the show’s plot could revolve around Falcon and Bucky uncovering the Thunderbolts conspiracy.

HulkCURRENT VALUES

At the moment, prices for Hulk #449 are gradually on their way up, but they aren’t ridiculous just yet.

Two years ago, the graded 9.8 averaged just under $200. Since then, it blossomed to $285 last year, and that’s where it has steadily remained entering 2020. However, the most recent sale on January 20 was $290. Although that’s only $5 over the current fair market value, it is a sign that this comic is about to pass the $300 FMV mark.

If the 9.4 is any indication, things could get out of hand in a hurry. In 2018, it had an FMV of $47. Last year, it rose to a modest $82. Then things got crazy. On January 11, one sold for a record-high $165, eclipsing last year’s high of $113. Will that be an outlier or the norm? Stay tuned.

HulkDISNEY+ AND COLLECTING

It’s clear that Marvel is planning to use its slate of Disney+ series to further expand and connect to the movie universe. To be fair, Kevin Feige has been upfront about that since D23 last summer. Not only could the Thunderbolts debut in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, but it was confirmed months ago that U.S. Agent John F. Walker will be featured in the series

It’s also been reported that WandaVision will directly connect to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Not only that, but S.W.O.R.D., the intergalactic offshoot of S.H.I.E.L.D., will be incorporated into the show by way of Hulkling’s introduction.

STAY AHEAD OF THE CURVE

Then there’s Hawkeye, which will feature Kate Bishop. Between Kate, Hulkling, and my theory that we could see Scarlet Witch and Vision’s twins, Wiccan and Speed, in WandaVision, it is safe to assume that Marvel Studios is using Disney+ to prepare for the Young Avengers.

All of this has a huge impact on the collecting circles because those announcements and rumors fuel the market. So keep your finger on the MCU pulse, and stay ahead of the curve.
