Hottest Comics Biggest Movers

    +82 - Tales of Suspense #57

Tales of Suspense #57 climbed the hottest comics list 82 spots to spot #19 on the Silver Age list. This Hawkeye key sold 13 times in the last 30 days compared to 4 times the 30 day period prior. There are over 2k graded copies of this Silver Age comic on the CGC census with the most common grade being a 5.0, which has seen an increase in sales prices steadily in the past year for obvious reasons.

This paired with the overall top 10 newbie, Hawkeye #1, from the modern age, I don't think there is a big surprise in a Hawkeye key jumping with the show having one episode remaining. Not too much to speculate on this one... so what are your thoughts on the future of these Hawkeye keys? In 10+ years do you think they will be continuing to grow in popularity and price? Or do you think it will fade over time? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

+79 - Invincible Iron Man #1

Invincible Iron Man #1 up 79 spots from the modern age list lands in #22 this week. Released in 2016, this modern comic has 723 graded books in the CGC census to date. The most common grade, of course, is a 9.8 with 532 of the overall number. In the last 30 days, 18 graded issues sold compared to only 8 the period prior.

This series is launched with Riri Williams as Ironheart.  From what I've been seeing, about two weeks ago ScreenRant released an article stating that there is an Ironheart show that reportedly starts filming in April 2022.

We already knew that Riri would be appearing in the MCU with Dominique Thorne in the title role, but this book most likely spiked when rumors of the film data resurfaced, causing people to start seeking out Riri keys. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what Thorne will do in the role.

+77 - Kanan: Last Padawan #6

Kanan: Last Padawan #6 up 77 spots on the modern age list to land in spot #15 was ranked number 92. Another modern book, released in 2015 this time. There are 1,127 graded issues in the CGC Census with the most common grade being...  9.8. This is a key issue as it's the first full appearance of Sabine Wren. Over the last 30 days, a whopping 27 graded copies sold while in the 30 days prior, only 7 had sold. That's a pretty substantial jump!

About a month ago, it was reported that Natasha Liu Bordizzo had been cast as Sabine Wren for the upcoming live-action Disney+ show, Star Wars: Ahsoka. In fact, over the past few weeks, quite a few casting announcements have been made - so I'm a little surprised more of those keys aren't popping up - but that explains this one quite well. Are you looking forward to Ahsoka's live-action show?

+71 - Daredevil #10

Daredevil #10 is up 71 to land in spot 30 from the Copper Age list. Over the past 30 days, 30 graded issues have sold compared to 9 in the previous 30 day period. Released in 2000, there are only 351 graded comics on the CGC census, with 157 being 9.8s. Looking at the sales history, it doesn't look like this comic was very popular up until early 2021.

So what's going on with this one? From what I can tell, the thing special about this issue is that it's the first Echo cover appearance as well as origin. This is another one that is spiking due to the Hawkeye hype as she is one of the larger characters in that show. I'm not sure why this would more popular, though, than her first full appearance which was in Daredevil #9 which has 912 graded copies and over 500 9.8s. What do you think makes this issue more popular than her first appearance? Let me know!

+66 G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #1

Last on the list, G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero #1 moved up 67 spots to land in #34 on the Bronze age list. Over the past 30 days, 18 graded issues were sold compared to half that the prior 30 days. Released in 1982, this key is the first appearance of... almost everyone? It's the first in the series and is based on the Hasbro toy. There are almost 4,600 graded comics in the CGC census with the most common grade being a 9.6 which peaked in mid-2021 with sales as high as $1k but seems to have leveled back out lately around $500.

G.I. Joe has been a popular series since the talk of the Joes in the MCU but lately, the only thing I've really been seeing is the change in publishers. While the book that jumped this time was a Marvel issue, IDW is the current publisher and it looks like they are losing that and it will be given over to Image who has had many successful series. I've also seen that there is a Saturday morning cartoon coming out based on the series as well - so it's possible that sparked some purchases. Let me know if I missed something else though for this spike!
