The horror genre for Marvel has really started to pop with supernatural speculation. This adjustment toward the macabre has played out at Sony and Marvel. Could Sony's Jared Leto perform well enough in the movie Morbius to spur Marvel to let the wolves out? If you liked his version of the Joker; then his Morbius is probably going to knock your collective socks off. His success with selling a vampire will push Marvel to unleash a hoard of horror, Man-Wolf among them. Yes, Man-Wolf was one of Spidey's enemies and has appeared several times in volume one of Amazing Spider-Man. Can this Bronze Age howling horror fill our coffers with silver?
J. Jonah Jameson has a son (I know hard to believe) and his son John was quite the astronaut. During a mission, John found a powerful amulet. This device could turn him into the Man-Wolf. His first appearance was Amazing Spider-Man #124 created by Gerry (Punisher) Conway and John Romita, Sr. artist. These two creators brought us yet another version of the werewolf, he might have been called Space-Wolf.
When all else fails, you can fall back on Spidey speculation. It is a good bet most of the time even if you have no idea what you are buying. Man-Wolf is a villain made for Spidey and centered around one of his primary antagonists. Amazing Spider-Man #124 has a great deal of horror genre potential. Can the ASM #124 provide our speculation wolf-pack a profit?

Now is the time to load up on the Man-Wolf in Amazing Spider-Man #124. The upper-end long-term returns are encouraging, of course, this is volume one of Amazing Spider-Man and it always sells. In addition, the short-term horizon over the last year has shown 20-40% give or take, even if you add in PayPal costs and eBay fees you are still well ahead with Man-Wolf. One of the characters in the upcoming Morbius movie is Agent Stroud played by Tyrese Gibson (internet buzz). Interestingly, this same character also hunts Man-Wolf in Marvel Comics. This would be an interesting turn to follow the agent hunting these supernatural creatures. You can still buy into Amazing Spider-Man #124 at grade 8.0 for around $120 which is cheap. Don't be left scratching at your fleas like a dum mutt, instead run the wolves and live a little.
Amazing Spider-Man #125The alternative purchase you can make to run with the wolves is to buy Amazing Spider-Man #125. This book was created by Gerry Conway (script) and John Romita with Ross Andru on art in 1973. This is Man-Wolf's origin story and it has a great cover that has Spidey getting slapped down by this beastie. How does this match up short-term to ASM #124?

This book, like most of Marvel, is a mixed bag of nuts. It shows strength in the mid-grades and weakness in the high grade. My analysis is this book is just catching up to the pack. Given another six months with more talk of the horror genre and this book could show high-grade increases. Bottom line, it is a cheaper alternative than Amazing Spider-Man #124 but it is not a better alternative. As I have told relatives time and time again, "stick with the big keys they are the best bet." The horror genre is the upcoming thing, better get in while you can; otherwise, you could end up prey instead of predator.
