Chewbacca, you’ve got some company, because The Book of Boba Fett has introduced everyone’s new favorite Wookie, Black Krrsantan. Here are the issues you’ll want on your wish lists.

All anyone is talking about is BOBF’s second episode, mostly a particular cameo. For those that missed the episode, let me fill you in. Boba Fett and Fennec Shand came face-to-face with their rivals to their criminal underworld throne, the Hutt Twins. These are Jabba's sluggish relatives, and they have come to Mos Espa to claim his former territory as their own. To get the job done, the Twins brought along some impressive hired muscle, the bounty-hunting Wookie straight from the comics, Black Krrsantan.

So who is he? As the story goes, Krrsantan was abducted from Kashyyyk and forced into gladiatorial combat. When his gladiator career came to an end, he went to work as a bounty hunter. His skills became so well known that he was hired by the likes of Jabba and even Darth Vader. Krrsantan’s ruthlessness is as renowned as his bounty hunting, and at one point, he murdered a fellow Wookie in order to pit fight another Wookie, whom he beat to death.

DARTH VADER #1

At the top of the Wookie wish list is Darth Vader #1. This issue brought Krrsantan into the Star Wars fold courtesy of writer Kieron Gillen’s run on the Darth Vader title.

These comics are becoming more collectible with every Star Wars Disney+ title, and Krrsantan could be just the beginning.

Don’t forget that two issues later, the Wookie’s cohort and regular employer, Doctor Aphra, made her comic debut.

DARTH VADER #13 HASTINGS VARIANT

It’s no secret that the first cover appearances are prime collectibles. In many cases, the cover debut outperforms the actual debut in terms of fair market value.

In this case, you get Black Krrsantan’s cover art premiere on a comic with a low print run. He appeared on the artwork for the Hastings store variant of Darth Vader #13.

STAR WARS #14

This issue could be a preview of things to come in the Star Wars universe. The inevitable matchup of Krrsantan and Chewbacca, the galaxy’s two most famous Wookies, played out in 2016’s Star Wars #14.

Now that the Wookie bounty hunter has arrived in live-action, fans will be pushing for him to clash with Chewie, and it would seem like a no-brainer for this to take place on Disney+.

In fact, it could lead to an epic finale for BOBF.

STAR WARS: DOCTOR APHRA #1 ACTION FIGURE VARIANT

Besides being the first issue in Aphra’s solo title, there isn’t much else that makes this a key issue. However, it will gain plenty of attention as fans scramble for all things Krrsantan.

While he was featured on a number of covers before this comic, the John Tyler Christopher action figure variant featuring Black Krrsantan has proven to be popular before the character’s live-action debut.

In general, collectors love action figure covers, so the recipe for success is already at work.

WOOKIE POWERED

The introduction of Black Krrsantan to BOBF could preface more characters, namely Doctor Aphra and the evil droids, 0-0-0 and BT-1. It should give collectors further incentive to keep track of the BOBF events as we await more character debuts and Easter eggs that will create a new infatuation with Star Wars comics.
