The Phantom The Complete Series: The Gold Key Years: Volume OneMedia Release -- When Lee Falk and Ray Moore's adventurer The Phantom burst into newspapers as a daily comic strip in 1936, he was the first precursor to the comic book superheroes of the late 1930s and '40s. Hermes Press is proud to announce our reprinting of the Silver Age adventures of the globe-trotting Phantom, starting with Gold Key's 1962 version, in eight hardcover library-bound volumes.

Publisher Gold Key sent the "Ghost Who Walks" into four colors, they recruited famed painter George Wilson for iconic covers, writer Bill Harris for pulse-pounding adventure stories, and artist Bill Lignante for his rendition of the hero. The Phantom: The Complete Series-Volume One reprints the first eight issues of the comic, reproduced through today's digital technology to look better than the original printing.

Hermes Press recently added The Phantom daily strips to their archival series, with Volume 3 due out this May. The Phantom comic book reprint series will reach eight ambitious volumes, spanning 15 years and encompassing 17 Gold Key comics, 11 King Phantom comics, and all 45 Charlton Phantom issues. Alongside the handsome daily and upcoming Sunday strips, The Phantom: The Complete Series-Volume One, The Gold Key Years cements Hermes as home of the classic version of the original crimebuster!
