For decades, people young and old have been playing video games. From Atari to Playstation, there’s certainly a video game for every collector! With graded games, collectors can take their collection to the next level. Heritage holds a Mini-Boss Select auction weekly, featuring some fine examples of collectible video games.

Godzilla: Monster of Monsters

Godzilla: Monster of Monsters was a unique 1989 North American release for the Nintendo Entertainment System.  This game is a personal favorite, as I am always biased toward Godzilla, but even so, this is such a cool find and would look great in a number of collections. The single-player action game sported some great, colorful graphics for the time, and had an impressive roster of monsters: Mothra and Godzilla (both are playable), Hedorah, and King Ghidora are just some of the kaiju in this game. The box art is especially notable -- it's reminiscent of vintage Godzilla posters

This sealed VGA-graded 80 NM is an absolute delight to see. Godzilla merchandise tends to be highly collectible, so this game may do some serious numbers. While there isn't a lot of sales data on VGA-graded copies, the last sale on an 8.0 WATA-graded copy was $1,020 in October of 2021. It's possible this could go higher, so as the song says -- Go Go, Godzilla!

InuYasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask

InuYasha took anime fandom by storm in 1996. I myself started reading the manga when Viz began translating it in 1997 and was quickly hooked. Rumiko Takahashi's shonen series was ripe with action and a little bit of horror, as well as romance. InuYasha sparked its own media franchise worldwide, resulting in InuYasha: The Secret of the Cursed Mask getting a North American release in 2004. The single-player role-playing game gave players the chance to have their own adventure in feudal Japan with the characters from the series.

This PlayStation 2 game received mixed reviews on its release and has since faded into obscurity. In fact, there aren't many graded copies of this game out there. This sealed 9.4 A WATA-graded copy is a treat. As there is very little sales data to look at, this game could end at any price. I personally hope it gets some traction (as they simply don't come up often), but if you're a fan looking to buy this for cheap, you may get lucky.

The Lion King

The Lion King had its claws on me in 1994. Nearly 30 years later and I still listen to the Academy Award-winning Hans Zimmer score repeatedly, along with the broadway musical soundtrack. The Lion King became a pop culture phenomenon, and Disney is still making money off of it to this day. As a kid, I had a number of Lion King lunchboxes, toys, comics, and even the Sega Genesis and Game Gear versions of the game. If you never played The Lion King on either console, I don't recommend it. But if you collect The Lion King, I absolutely do recommend it.

This sealed VGA-graded 85 NM+ really takes me back. This box looks clean and sharp, though it does have some minor flaws. The one-year average on similarly graded VGA copies is only $140, making this an affordable collectible for the right person. While I don't see this game being a long-term heavy hitter, there's no denying the collectibility of Disneyana -- especially for The Lion King.
