Heritage's current video game auction features a plethora of entries from The Dreamer Collection. With some unique titles worth a look or two, here's a peek at some of the goodies up for bids.

As explained by Heritage, "The Dreamer Collection features games from the original owner’s lofty dream of building a well-stocked video game rental store. That dream never got past the planning stages, and in fact, the games were never opened, resulting in a huge collection of rare, unusual, and just plain cool factory-sealed titles for the Sega CD, Super Nintendo, and Sony PlayStation. We are especially excited about this sale because many of the games are making their Heritage Auctions debut."

Sunset Riders - Wata 8.5 A Sealed [Made in Japan] (The Dreamer Collection), SNES Konami 1993 USA

"This is the first factory-sealed copy of Sunset Riders for the Super Nintendo ever offered by Heritage. It is a hard-to-find platform shooter that some gamers call "Contra in The Old West." Adapted from Konami's 1991 arcade classic, it features box art by Tom DuBois. Also released for Genesis."

When it comes to credentials, IGN ranked it as the 88th best game for the SNES. Retro Sanctuary placed Sunset Riders 96th on their "Top 100 Best SNES Games."  In 2018, Complex listed the game 36th in their "The Best Super Nintendo Games of All Time."

A Wata CIB 8.5 sold for $1,000 in January of this year. This copy has a current high bid of $1,050.

Doom - Wata 9.6 A+ Sealed [Cardboard Longbox, Early Production] (The Dreamer Collection), PS1 Williams 1995 USA

This is a well-preserved copy of one of the most desirable longbox games for the PlayStation, and it's one of few sealed examples. It features a complete port of Doom II and a new version of the original 1993 MS-DOS computer game called Ultimate Doom.

The first episode was distributed as shareware and played by an estimated 15–20 million people within two years. The full game, with two further episodes, was sold via mail order.  Official ports were released for Sega 32X, Atari Jaguar, and Mac OS in 1994, SNES and PlayStation in 1995, 3DO in 1996, Sega Saturn in 1997, Acorn Risc PC in 1998, Game Boy Advance in 2001, Xbox 360 in 2006, iOS in 2009, and Nintendo Switch in 2019.

This entry has a current high bid of $6,500.

Road Rash - Wata 9.6 A+ Sealed [Cardboard Longbox] (The Dreamer Collection), PS1 EA 1995 USA

Heritage has offered several copies of the Sega CD version of Road Rash, but this lot marks the PlayStation debut of the title. This game took the motorcycle racing genre and turned it on its ear, literally.

The weapons-based combat incorporated music from bands like Soundgarden, Hammerbox, Swervedriver, and Monster Magnet. Adapted from the 1994 3DO game.

The current bid on this item is $1,750.

Crash Bandicoot - Wata 9.4 A+ Sealed [Sony Security Label, Pixel ESRB, First Production], PS1 Sony 1996 USA

This is a First Production copy of one of the key titles in the PlayStation library. It is the highest graded example of the game from any production run that Heritage has ever offered. For those unaware, Crash Bandicoot is to Sony what Mario is to Nintendo and Sonic the Hedgehog is to Sega, and this title marks his first appearance.

The Crash Bandicoot series is one of the few Western video game series to find blockbuster success in Japan. Sequels Cortex Strikes Back and Warped sold 1.3 and 1.4 million units in the country, respectively

A Wata Sealed 8.0 copy sold in 11/2021 for $19,200. Where do you think this much higher grade will land? This copy has a current high bid of $12,000.

Tomb Raider - Wata 9.6 A+ Sealed [Pixel ESRB, Sony Security Label, First Production] (The Dreamer Collection), PS1 Eidos 1996 USA

Tomb Raider is an iconic title for the PlayStation, and here we have a First Production copy of the game in near-mint condition. In fact, this is the highest-graded copy Heritage has ever offered for sale. The game, which is ported from the Saturn version, features the debut of Lara Croft, one of the most famous video game characters in the history of the industry.

A Wata Sealed 9.4 sold on Jan 30, 2022 for $43,200, also through Heritage. It's anyone's guess as to how high this 9.6 will land.

This auction closes on 3/17/22. Check out the rest of the entries HERE -  happy bidding!
