As fans prepare for the coming of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, it's easy to forget that Power Pack will likely precede them both thanks to a list Marvel made 11 years ago.

It wasn't long ago that Marvel announced that Shang-Chi, the Master of Kung Fu himself, would be entering the MCU in the coming years. After that, the monumental news that the Fantastic Four and X-Men would be "coming home" to Marvel. Then there's the looming Avengers: Endgame that premieres later this month. With so much news churning the rumor waters, don't forget about one eventuality: Power Pack.

Last year, I broke down the Securities and Exchange Commission report from 2008 in the article, "Power Pack in the MCU?" To recap, before Disney took over Marvel Studios in their continuing bid for world domination, Marvel used the film/television rights to a dozen of its properties as collateral to build its own studio. Those properties happened to be Ant-Man, the Avengers, Black Panther, Captain America, Cloak & Dagger, Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, the Hulk, Iron Man, Nick Fury, Power Pack, and Shang-Chi.

Now that we have a Shang-Chi movie on the agenda, that leaves only one of those original 12 properties to be added to the MCU: Power Pack. Here we are 11 years later, and everyone but the PP kids (my inner child giggled at that) have either stepped into the MCU or are at least in the planning stages.

Considering Power Pack was on that 2008 SEC list, it is all but a guarantee that they will get be part of the MCU one way or another.

Of all the properties on the list, mainstream audiences may be least familiar with Power Pack, even more so than Shang-Chi. It stands to reason that the relative obscurity (at least compared to, say, the Avengers) is why Marvel has issued a True Believers: Power Pack #1 with a May 22 release date to help fans get reacquainted with the original version of the team.

There have been rumors of the Pack coming to the MCU for over a decade. As mentioned in the previous Power Pack post (enjoy that tongue twister), they were considered for a feature film before Iron Man kicked off the MCU. Sooner or later, it is going to come to fruition, and that May 22 True Believers comic has me thinking it will be in the sooner category. I would go so far to say that Power Pack will make it into the MCU before the Fantastic Four (definitely before the X-Men since Kevin Feige is apparently in no rush to get them into the mix, which is driving me crazy).

The thing is, a family of superpowered tweens fits in perfectly with the kid-friendly, action-comedy MCU movies we've been inundated with since Guardians of the Galaxy changed the game and steered the movies more in the comedic direction. Even if there wasn't an MCU, the concept sounds like a family-friendly Disney movie.

As we wait on Feige to tell us when the project will happen, you'll want to get your hands on the Pack's first appearance in Power Pack #1. Of course, other collectors have already been on the case. A graded 9.8 has averaged $240 over the past 90 days, and it sold earlier this month for $230. However, the lower grades have experienced a dip, which is good for you. The 9.6, which had a fair market value of $90 last year, has fallen to a $78 three-month average. Even better, at least for buyers, one last sold for just $24 in November. At those prices, it's worth investing in what is currently a minor key that has the potential to transcend into a major key.
