In case you have been living in a cave, the Midnight Sons are a group of supernatural superheroes that include Ghost Riders Daniel Ketch and Johnny Blaze; Morbius; the Nightstalkers (a group of mystic-hunting heroes that included Blade, Frank Drake and Hannibal King); and the Darkhold Redeemers who were focused on destroying the ancient tome of evil known as the Darkhold and its physical embodiment, the Dwarf. Dr. Strange formed them in order to defeat the Mother of All Demons, Lilith. If you are a TV nut like me, you may have seen versions of her on Shadowhunters or Supernatural.

This would bring forth the dark side of the multiverse and be the beacon of light for all future supernatural Marvel movies. In the slate we already have Morbius and Blade scheduled, with Ghost Rider and Dr. Strange being no "strangers" to the big screen, see what I did there? eh? eh? Yeah, my son says I should stop that too, come to think of it so does my wife. EITHER WAY.... Talks of this movie have popped up in the past with it then being placed on the back burner, due to unknown reasons, but with most of the team being in the MCU, chances are we will see this team unite at some point.

Instead of buying these key books when interest starts to spark and pay more than FMV, start jumping on these now while you can find them in the back bins. No these aren't the individual's first appearance because those alone will cost you about a car, these are the key books for the "Rise of the Midnight Sons" run. Which, if WHEN the movie comes out will be more than likely the basis for it.

Keys to Watch Out For

Ghost Rider #28/ Spirits of Vengeance #1

When the wall between our realms and that of the supernatural break, Lilith comes through to wreak havoc on the entire Earth. Danny Ketch joins forces with Johnny Blaze, who receives the Caretakers cycle, in order to stop her dead in her tracks. During all this Dr. Strange looks upon them in the background carefully making his plans. Both of these are available at very low prices. So low that even if it never comes to the big screen you did not hurt the bank in the least.

Morbius #1/Darkhold #1

These issues introduce us to Morbius the Living Vampire, who after attacking and drinking all of the blood out of a woman is remorseful, and the Darkhold. The power of the Darkhold is tough for many to resist, enter the Darkhold Redeemers. Maybe they might be introduced in the new Blade movie? Who knows if or when they will enter the MCU. These books I would grab simply because it belongs to the series but all in all they are too cheap to pass up, but will not see extremely high values.

NightStalkers #1/ Ghost Rider #31

This is the issue where "the night is no longer safe" for the forces of evil. The team known as the Nightstalkers join forces with the Ghost Riders in order to take down Lilith. Dr. Strange cannot interfere or use his powers due to opening the rift that Lilith created, even more, thus acting as a catalyst for her plans. But the good guys manage to take her down and weaken her to the point she escapes and feeds on one of her creations. Great intro and great ending for the Midnight Sons. Like I keep saying, for the prices you will pay for this set, it is easily worth getting.

Now, this is all speculation that this will make it into a movie or TV show but the indications are pointing to a very real possibility, especially considering that Kevin Feige has gone on record saying he loves the Midnight Sons and does have a future planned for them but when is still up in the air. If hopes of making a good turnaround on these have you on the fence, every issue here includes a poster (it originally did while in the polybag) that when combined form a bigger picture of the Sons! Yeah I know cheesy but still was pretty cool at the times, and having the poster does make the issue complete.

I hope you all learned a little about the Midnight Sons and what to get. If you would like deeper articles on certain heroes or villains, you need only to comment below and I will make it happen.
