Have you been keeping up with our Concert Poster Talk podcast? We've been releasing bi-weekly episodes that delve into the behind-the-scenes world of gig posters. Each episode features an exclusive interview and discussion with a different poster artist or industry professional. Our guests have great stories to tell and this podcast is truly one of a kind! This is the only podcast out there dedicated specifically to the concert poster collecting hobby.

Exclusive Interviews

We've had the pleasure of interviewing several of the greatest names in the industry. So far, this has included the likes of Jermaine Rogers, Mike King, and Justin Hampton, a few of the greatest modern poster designers. They've discussed their work at length, their influences, talked about how they got their start, and touched on their own personal poster collections. Additionally, they share stories from their years in the industry. This often includes times they've gotten to meet some of their musical heroes.

This week's episode features a very unique guest: Jay Thelin. Jay and his brother Ron owned the legendary Psychedelic Shop in Haight Ashbury in San Francisco back in the 1960s. This shop was extremely important to the counterculture movement during that era. They also distributed several of the early psychedelic posters and sold tickets to shows at the Fillmore Auditorium and the Avalon Ballroom. In the episode of Concert Poster Talk, Jay tells his story. He talks about working with Bill Graham and Chet Helms, about being at the Trips Festival and the Human-Be-In, as well as about how the Psychedelic Shop came to be. Jay presents a fascinating history that relates to concert posters.
