The Infinity Gauntlet had a major impact on the Avengers finale between the Infinity War and End Game movies.  Thanos's pursuit of the Gauntlet was legendary and something that will be remembered by Marvel fans for a long time.  It took a whole second movie to undo the damage of the Gauntlet and allow the Marvel Universe to flow forward.  Thanos was inevitable, but gains in Infinity Gauntlet-related comics had a hard time remaining relevant for very long.  Almost like their gains were amassed to a thrilling climax and then snapped into oblivion.

The Infinity Gauntlet was a 6-part comic limited series along with a large number of character tie-ins that crossed the entire Marvel Universe.  The series was a success for Marvel and led to multiple sequels that centered around the Infinity Stones and their collection for the purpose of destruction...and the desire of the heroes to stop it, of course.  Fans would remember the initial series and the groundbreaking role that it played for comic writing and fan involvement.  The 1991 release of The Infinity Gauntlet #1 saw the comic become an instant classic.  It helped to reintroduce a new generation to the Mad Titan, Thanos and would eventually lead to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) we all know and love today.

Prices for the Infinity Gauntlet series have been on quite the ride since the release of the power-glove inspired MCU releases.  With the build-up and release of Infinity War in 2018, prices for The Infinity Gauntlet #1 rose from the $150 range for a 9.8 graded copy and into the high $200's and even peaking into the $300 range for newsstand variant copies.  Between the two movies, the market retracted a bit as it tried to settle from higher prices and an influx of stock on the market.  As the release of End Game approached, the book tried to make some market strides but was mostly met with lower pricing and dampened enthusiasm from collectors.  Currently, a 9.8 copy sells for around the $150 mark that it began from in 2017.  It appears that most of the gains were driven by speculation and desire for gains, but the true value dropped out of the market with a huge supply (CGC Census is near 1500 9.8 grades) and a decreased demand with the diminished role of the Gauntlet in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) offerings.  A newsstand copy does exist and sells at a slight premium to a direct copy.

The long-term prospects for the Gauntlet are not looking great.  The Infinity Stones appeared to be destroyed and the Gauntlet rendered useless without them.  However, as a good speculator, I would say that we are going to see the infinity stones pop up in the MCU again.  There are too many adventures with the Guardians, Thor in Space, Captain Marvel, and other space-based storylines, like The Eternals, to be told for Marvel.  Keep an eye on this and other ensemble-type comic series to be hot with collectors for years to come, but if you are looking for something outside of the Gauntlet, now may be a good time to invest in the Secret Wars.

Do you feel the Gauntlet or the Infinity Stones will make future appearances in the MCU?  Are there other limited series that you are speculating may be featured stories?  Drop your comments and join the speculation!
