Transparency is one of our most important values. As such, we want to share the FAQs regarding our new site with our community.

This week marks a major milestone for our brand and is undoubtedly our biggest achievement yet in making collecting better. We launched our new website on October 13th!

Thank you for all of the kind words about the new look and feel and for the valuable feedback on aspects you’re looking forward to us incorporating in future iterations. And to anyone who has experienced an issue with getting into GoCollect’s new site or finding what you’re looking for, thank you for your patience as we work through those things.


Q: Why doesn’t my login/password work?
A: Here’s what you’ll want to do:

  1. Create a new account
  2. Use your original email attached to your account
  3. Create a password 11 characters or longer
  4. Log out
  5. Log back in with that same information
  6. Wait for data to migrate from the old site

I know this is frustrating, and we appreciate your patience during this time. This is a way for you to be able to get into your accounts without waiting on our limited support staff. However, if you would prefer to work with someone 1:1, please reach out to help@gocollect.com; just know we are backed up and it may take a while for our support to get to you.


Q: What happened to my lists?
A:  The first time you log into the new site, you’ll notice that your lists may be missing data or missing completely. Don’t stress! Transferring the data from lists from the old platform to the new will take some time the first time you’ve logged in. You don’t need to do a thing. Most lists are loaded within a couple hours, but the longer the list, the longer it will take. 


Q: Why are FMVs out of whack?
A: As you know, we have an expectation of transparency for our site, including a transparency clause with the sales we list. This means that sales must be validated before they make it to our site. We remove data from partners who consistently don’t meet our transparency standards so that our system can serve our collector community with the high standard of quality information that you should expect. And we are constantly sourcing trusted partners. We look forward to announcing several new ones soon!

Q: How come when I’m signed in as a paid subscriber,  I still can’t see all the FMVs?
A: That’s because you’ve navigated to that page outside of the dashboard. To see all FMVs, paid subscribers should navigate to using the left menu bar from the dashboard.

Free Subscriber Features:

Q: Why have you made some of the features that used to be free require a paid subscription?
A: When GoCollect was founded, our founder had one goal. To make collecting better for collectors. Today, that’s still the goal. 

What it takes to truly make collecting better, leveraging best-in-class technology and maintaining a high standard of data integrity, requires more resources and specialized skill sets than ever. So we closely examined our model and realized that we were offering features that are costly to maintain at no cost and it was not going to be sustainable. So, things like dynamically updated value reports now require a paid subscription. 

What’s exciting is that we’re offering our GoCollect Pro subscribers more than ever before, including 2 additional guides (video games and concert posters), a modeling tool that enables the creation of FMV models for rare collectibles based on the user’s scenario-based input, the ability to customize notification settings for individual items, and detailed past sales data with 30-90-365 day average past sales. Our roadmap is full of exciting updates to come including a mobile app and more.

Free users do still have access to partial FMV data, their lists, upcoming auctions, an endless amount of information on the different categories, and much more.

Q: What will happen with value reports for free subscribers?
A: FMV grades that are free will still be available, but users will need to subscribe to GoCollect Pro to get detailed views going forward. If you were a subscriber as of October 13, 2021 and you decide not to subscribe, we will not hold you hostage on your historical data. You will see your full report, but it will not continue to be updated and will be date stamped to indicate such.

None of the grading information I entered for my collection is showing up on your new site. Please tell me this is a short-term issue that will be resolved soon.

The new design is a step back, especially when it comes to the simple task of checking recent sales on a watch list, now taking twice as many clicks to accomplish.

And when I click “Contact” to message you about it, the link brings up the Comic Market Overview page, so you can’t be properly advised of problems users are having.

Not good!

I couldn’t agree more with this. What used to take a few seconds and was a ‘go to’ for me several times a day has turned into a chore.

Don’t like new site. Old site gave more and easy info. When you pulled up say spawn. It listed them all with prices. Now you have to drill down to get the info.

Missing over 500 of my saved comic listings and I have missed several chances at buying graded books because of simply having no idea of what I already own. Why was transferring of files not done prior to full launch of new site? Help!

New site can’t be good for CGC. I was prepping for a Signature Series signing w/ 4 creators. Using the old gocollect, l could have evaluated all the books in the 2 long boxes I’d filled with their work in a day. Now it’s impossible to quickly locate & compare 2021 sale prices (if any) for multiple grades (Universal & SS [if any & who signed: Stan Lee? Or someone else?] ), with older sales. Way to much digging & waiting for those big photos to load. Plus, constant re-centering left to right on an Apple 12-Pro phone. Variants are even harder to find if listed at all. I’d budgeted $2K for this signing, but ran out of time & gave up on it altogether. That may be small potatoes for CGC, but it adds up. And, l am unhappy about the missed opportunity to have my carefully collected books signed.

I use Comic Connect to get values from your site. Lately there have been no changes to my very large collection. Why is this? I am a paid GoComic subscriber.

Feel what JHGODFREY states about the grading input into our lists. All other comic list data loaded onto new site from the older site with the exception of the grading info. I literally graded and input my entire collection of hundreds of comics personally and its NOWHERE to be found!

Yea I want the old site back! Way more simpler, cleaner, less cluttered and easier to use! Especially on mobile! Now I have to scroll for days to get to the bottom of my saved comics lists! Way harder to search comic values and now have to open every comic page to see actual values! FMV’s that were on old site on certain issues are now missing! What a mess! Oh and now I am being forced to pay to see all FMV prices! $9 subscription is way too much for this sub-par new version site! Anyone else agree with me? Please stand up!

The new site is horrible. Having the ability to search an entire year of a specific title was so much easier then the current version of having to put each individual # down. Old version was so much more user friendly

Sorry, but the new site is not as easy to use and frustrating to say the least. When I check a cert number, it doesn’t give the grade or the date the book was graded, like before. Pages take longer to load as well. I hope these bugs get worked out.

Not happy with the new site. Lost all my comic lists. Don’t want to have to walk through other collectibles information to get to comics. You are ramping up your bottom line at the expense and inconvenience of your customers.

This new site is a dumpster fire. I am upset that I recently bought an annual subscription. I do not know who this design would appeal to, nor who at GoCollect approved this to be inflicted on their customers. Everything is more cluttered and difficult to get to. Dumping posters and video games into my dashboard screen is annoying. What is worse…it seems slower, buggier, and it is missing data. After mucking about I think I see some potential added value buried in there, but for the most part we have had window dressing forced on us at the expense of usefulness.

I hate to say it, but the transition to the new site feels like a downgrade in almost all regards. I am not certain what led to the change, but the changes have taken what was an incredibly helpful resource for not only evaluating my own personal collection, but also helping inform the value of considered purchases, and have rendered it inoperable.

The old site was far faster, and from any search engine lead directly to the information being sought. Since the new site launched, finding the information desired is never that simple. The original design felt, in every sense, like it was designed with collectors in mind. When at a flea market or yard sale; one could pull out your phone and get data on an entire stack of books in only moments. Never in the history of the site did the information provided disappoint, or fail to tell me what I was really looking at.

The old site looked better, and had engaging content that presented enough value to justify paying for a subscription. The new site has lost the ease of use, and convenience that made it the best. I used to promote the site to anyone I spoke to that enjoyed collecting, and over the years many have subscribed as a result of that recommendation. Now I find myself turning to or seeking other resources. Even many free resources now fill the role more effectively. It’s almost as like the feeling of seeing one of your favorite series receive a cancellation order and knowing that several well developed story lines will never be resolved.

If transparency is truly the goal; I would like to know what truly happened. Did some outside interest force the change? Why an entirely new site, rather than upgrades to the existing one? Has ownership/control of the company changed? These new partners; are they actually fans of the industry, or are their interests somewhat less transparent? I ask these things in hope that a genuine understanding of what inspired such a significant shift for the worse would allow me to continue justifying a membership. When even the recently sold section of Ebay outperforms; it seems unreasonable to continue paying a premium for access simply for the sake of nostalgia.

I hope you can help clarify some of these matters and in doing so address the many concerns I see echoed in the comments that I see from other members. Barring that information, and the setting of some expectations as to when these issues will be resolved; I fear that your subscribership will be experiencing a bit of shock. I cannot speak for anyone else, but from what I am reading anywhere such matters are discussed; I won’t be the only person forced to cancel; whether or not the remainder of the membership term is prorated. I apologize for having to be so frank about my feelings on the matter. Losing faith in something you once supported is difficult; and comics are something that have always represented a medium that never let me down. I hope that this comment is seen for what it is intended; a sincere hope that a good thing can be salvaged, or at least the true catalyst revealed so that those that come afterward to fill the void can know what to avoid in order to avoid alienating their patrons.

I am very surprised there are not more recent comments on the “New” ( !=Improved ) 😉 site, as nothing appears to be corrected yet. Site shows the Last comment was on 10/21. That is unless there’s a page 2 somewhere, maybe it’s over in a different dashboard, e.g. the poster dashboard? Guess I’ll check there… nope that logged me out or something, looks like I’m not on my account anymore… what the heck? where is everything that I want to see, not what I don’t want to see?

On 10/15, I reported that the FMV in Value Report for the individual “My Comics Lists” were completely messed up. Now a month later they are still messed up.

Bring back the old site, at least it worked and you’ll retain more subscribers. This new site will quadruple your new subscribers costs. Just watch your retention numbers dwindle over the next month or so.
It’s time to cry uncle.
