On August 3rd, 50 Mike King concert posters from the Ultrasounds Collection went up for auction with ComicConnect. The auction ended on August 24th with great success!
The top-selling concert poster in the ComicConnect auction sold for $351! That particular poster was the 1993 concert of the Romantics at La Luna. Other top-selling posters in the auction were: Slipknot, The Melvins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Motorhead.
The Ultrasounds Collection, owned by GoCollect Founder Jeff Meyer, was purchased as a way to build a one-of-a-kind price guide for graded concert posters. The price guide will be launching in a few weeks with additional features rolling out throughout the rest of 2020.
GoCollect and Meyer are passionate about giving back. 50% of the proceeds of the ComicConnect auction were donated to Second Harvest of Metrolina. A check for the amount of $3,000 will be presented to Second Harvest of Metrolina. In the coming months, more posters from the Ultrasounds Collection will go on auction, and proceeds from those auctions will also be donated to Second Harvest of Metrolina.
GoCollect has partnered with Certified Guaranty Company ® (CGC ®) to professionally grade and encapsulate thousands of posters from this collection to build the concert poster price guide. Stay tuned for more updates on future auctions and the release of the concert poster price guide.
