On May 11th, Heritage is hosting a huge video game auction, the Carolina Collection Archie Showcase Collection. This auction has over 100 unique pieces that we haven't seen in weekly auctions. These items include advertisement pieces, boxes, items from the Nintendo World Championship, and more. With so many great items to look at, it can be a little overwhelming. These are my top picks from this showcase auction.

1990 Nintendo World Championship Press Sticker

This item immediately caught my eye. I've been a member of the press for a number of events, so seeing this unused 1990 Nintendo World Championship press sticker is a real treat. While most modern press badges only say the name of the event and press, this sticker features Mario unloading a truck.

It's fun, it's dynamic, and it's a unique collectible. While press badges and stickers won't generally fetch big dollar amounts, due to the event and the design it is possible this sticker could end up around $50. This is a great piece for collectors, especially if you've ever worked as press!

Catch the Wave Nintendo Advertisement

Here's something worth displaying! This 1989 single-sheet advertisement from Nintendo features beautiful artwork with Mario, Michelangelo, Uncle Fester, and a few other characters from Nintendo's newest games. The characters are seen riding surfboards with various skill levels, and even more interesting is the fish pattern on Mario's overalls.

This ad is peak 1980s, and deserves to be on display in your home! Heritage notes that this ad is in overall excellent condition. As far as what this is worth, this could easily go over $150. While this may not be a great buy for investors, for a collector you absolutely can't go wrong!

Bible Buffet Unused Box, Manual, and Cartridge Label

Religious video games are a unique niche in the video game market. Even more unique is an unused box, manual, and cartridge label.

Finding items like this is rare -- and this auction has five similar religious-based ones to pick from. While this isn't for a more popular game such as Super Mario Bros, this is still a unique piece of video game manufacturing that you truly don't see too often.

There is also no sales data to go off of for something like this. While Bible Buffet games have been graded and sold -- often for over $200, finding an appropriate price for this is hard. Heritage notes this item as being in excellent condition.

Nintendo World Class Service Magnet

Home consoles were still a new thing in the late 1980s, so it was only natural for Nintendo to offer a service hotline should something happen to your Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Nintendo. This magnet usually came with an 800 number on the bottom, but this magnet is missing it.

These magnets come up fairly often for sale, averaging at $26 for ones in good condition. Heritage notes that this item is in excellent condition. If you're interested in a magnet with the phone number, don't worry -- Heritage has one up for auction as well!
