Thors #2Thors #2
Marvel Comics
Aaron, Sprouse, Sudzuka, Story & Gracia

Thors continues to be a murder mystery, but this issue departs from an investigation as the Thors fall into familiar tropes, such as fighting each other. This is an average read as the investigation tends to bumble into information instead of doing any tangible detective work. The comic has some nice visuals, some funny components and some good action but doesn't add much of a new angle on the Thors Corps. This is an okay read.

With Beta Ray dead, the Thors Corps mourns him then begins their quest for revenge. This opening is the best part of the comic. Old Thor provides a succinct summary of Beta Ray's life and Ultimate Thor declares its vengeance time. The Thors head out and begin roughing up some of the usual suspects looking for information.

The comic falls apart when Ultimate Thor and Marvel U Thor (the unworthy Thor) meet up. Unworthy has clearly been tampering with things, but Ultimate Thor accuses him of following him around. Seems like unworthy Thor's one step ahead, but this at least creates an argument and they fight. The fight goes nowhere as Ultimate Thor is summoned by the other Thors and takes off promising to resolve this later. I have to admit this sequence didn't make a whole lot of sense but was nice to watch a battle.

The Thors then find another dead body. However, it isn't another Jane Foster. It's someone else. While investigating they stumble upon a suspect. The book ends.

Unfortunately the book paints the Thors Corps as a bunch of nitwits. They can't conduct a serious investigation so they luck into real evidence while they use their muscle on others in hopes of shaking something loose. The comic is not really a crime book that it appeared to be in the first issue. The comic is more of smash first and demand answers later. The comic could use more Groot-Thor, more detective work and some angles that they are playing at.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsThe artwork is a highlight. There are some detailed and lively images in this book as the artwork comes together to wow the reader. The comic book takes care to provide some subtle differences in the various Thors, their weapons and their movements. The book certainly looks great.

Thors is a decent read. The comic follows a bunch of Thors that are following a trail of bodies. This comic has a fight between two Thors, another dead body and a funeral to kick it all off. There isn't much in here that will make you think about the case of the various dead people and it appears the book will resolve the plot with the Thors just happening onto the murderer. This is an okay read but by no means a crime book as the first issue suggested. Give it a shot, if for nothing else the stellar artwork.
