Cade and Gunner escape from the bounty hunters as this issue turns in a lot of action. However, the reason this comic succeeds is because of the character interaction as it appears the living members of the Skywalkers all have their say-so to each other in this issue. It's not clear that all of the characters are connecting the dots about who is related to whom, but this issue manages to fill the reader in on some of the key emotional decisions that have been in question since the first issue of this series. It's a very good issue that excels at what it usually shines with: character development.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsCade and Gunner manage to capture one of the bounty hunters and kill off two others with the help of Cade's mother, Morrigan. After they regroup with Syn, Cade has it out with his mother.

The dialogue doesn't carry on for very long but the most important piece of the conversation surrounds around her feelings towards Cade's father, Kol. We learn that there was regret on the part of Morrigan and her apparent knowledge of the siege on Kol and the Jedi. What's interesting is that she doesn't seem to offer much in the way of regret or concern with how Cade turned out. Why was it that Morrigan didn't run away with Cade? If she did know there was going to be assault ahead of time what did she do to try to stop it, if anything? We may not have all of the answers to the puzzle but this certainly begins to line up exactly what transpired prior to the attack on Kol and the Jedi.

As the issue ends, Gunner confronts another Moff about what she knows and when she knew it, but what Gunner discovers is far more interesting. Moff Gromia reveals to Gunner that Morrigan and Nyna (Gunner's mother) are the same person. Of course, Gunner doesn't believe her, but this opens up the connecting of the dots. Gunner and Cade are at least half siblings and quite possibly full siblings. At some point they will figure this all out and that means it's possible that Gunner has force abilities similar to that of Cade's.

The artwork is back again with a strong issue. The strength in this issue involved the scenes where Cade, Morrigan and Gunner appear together on panel. The characters all show subtle similarities as they should without making them just carbon copies with different haircuts. The action in the beginning of the comic also excels in the art department. The comic book is as fun to look through as it is to read.

Legacy takes a break from the Jedi next issue as it revisits the war, but this issue is definitely a high note in the series. While not every question gets answered, many do and the story is beginning to head in a direction where the family ties will begin to drive the story. It's an excellent comic that relies on the characters to tell a compelling story. I definitely recommend this comic book.
