Muppet Snow White #3Muppet Snow White #3 of 4
Boom! Kids Comics
Snider, Storck & Paroline

The Muppets performing Snow White continues with a crazy issue that appeared to be heading towards wrapping up the mini series one issue early. How is this possible? Well, in the movie when Snow White eats the apple, the prince kisses her, wakes her up and everything is happily ever after, etc. Not here. This issue is a wild ride that leaves the ending so wide open that the book on Snow White must be thrown out. This was issue was fun topped with more fun topped with Muppet wackiness.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsThe issue opens with the band performing. The bulk of the opening utilizes the modern club going scene mixed with Gonzo and Rizzo acting as participants and narrators. It's a lot of fun and brings in a bunch of different characters. Eventually Harry blows up the band as directed by the Queen. They do survive which actually ends up with the birth of the Electric Mayhem group (don't ask just read it) and this angers Piggy the Queen. She takes matters into her own hands.

Piggy shows up with the poisonous apple you know how the story goes. Or do you? Well, Piggy changes her mind about poisoning Snow White because of how the story is supposed to end. You see, Piggy wants the Prince for herself. Why? Because the Prince is Kermit.

The comic book takes its time setting up a lot of jokes but it also races through some scenes to get down to more of the slapstick humor, such as Beaker and the medical revive paddles. The comic book has the right mix here to make sure the entire book is entertaining, satisfying almost every Muppet fan's need.

Again, the main problem here is that there isn't enough Kermit. Two issues in a row of hardly any Kermit really doesn't make me too happy. Sure, the issue is great but I just feel a little let down that Kermit is really only in the end.

The artwork is excellent. The whole comic book has a loose feel to it that makes the characters just seem sillier than normal and it works so well. You can visually watch the Muppets perform this "play" with all of the angst in the acting they would have done on the TV show or in the movie. The artwork makes the comic that much more fun and that's what it's all about.

From the looks of this issue I would think the finale is going to be a blast. At this point I have no idea how this is going to get wrapped up and I can't wait to find out what surprises are in store for us.
