Deadly Class #11Deadly Class #11

The eleventh issue of Deadly Class is the kind of issue that is all-out action that brings plot heads to a boil. The book stops short of being a complete game-changer as things end with a cliffhanger that kind of took the spotlight away from the issue's main contents. However, you cut it up, the comic is extremely violent and very entertaining. I recommend checking this out.

The interesting component to this comic book is not Marcus taking on his arch nemesis. It's more about Marcus' two love interests, Saya and Maria using the worst possible spot to air their grievances. While the two ladies fight over, well, the rights to Marcus among other things, everything goes wrong for Marcus as he takes on the backwards gang on their turf.

The comic book provides some nice surprises and some excellent fight scenes. The book does feel like it was a bit shy of shaking things up completely, not that killing off characters is the way to go, but the ending felt a little too clean for a comic like this. It seems like a one-sided ending on too many fronts. We'll see how this all plays out.

The pace of the book is fast and that works as the conclusion to a major storyline. What's interesting is that there is still plenty of dialogue, which you might not expect in a book with this much action. Also, the narration seems to switch to different characters fairly seamlessly, which is an interesting way to tell this story. The comic is very well constructed in this regard.

Brandon Borzelli's Geek Goggle ReviewsThe artwork is fantastic. Not only are the fight scenes brutal and detailed, the design is also quite clever. There is one sequence where an explosion takes place on a lower level of the house but the next panels happen to be of the floor directly above the explosion making for a perfect transition to the results of the explosion. The comic book has that gritty and grim look to it that helps set the stage for this bloodbath of a battle. The artwork definitely takes on another level in this issue.

Deadly Class is an enjoyable read. The characters all have a way of shunning perfection. The characters display their flaws often and they become part of the storyline. While this issue may seem like a revenge story or tying up loose ends story, it really is a drama that is the result of a love triangle. The comic book has plenty of action and wonderful visuals to round out the reading experience. This is definitely something to pick up.
