Have you seen this yet? Boom! Studios is publishing Die Hard Year One, which offers up the origin story of supercop John McClane! Written by Howard Chaykin (American Flagg!, American Century, The Saga of Solomon Kane) and with art by Stephen Thompson (Star Wars: Clone Wars, Star Trek New Frontier), the series is set in 1976 in New York City.

We meet McClane as a rookie cop in the '70s, dealing with the Bicentennial celebration . . . a time period also known as the Summer of Sam! I'm definitely intrigued–I enjoyed the movies, and I love the idea of starting from the beginning of McClane's career. Plus, the solicitation copy promises pimps, drunks, ecoterrorists, freaks, and the debauched rich. What's not to like?

Pre-order Die Hard Year One #1 before August 26 to get 20% off! You can also pre-order Die Hard Year One #2 and #3 and save.
